Witsteen BV has announced a closed beta for its digital card collectible game, Battle for Randland, coming in a few weeks on Android, iOS, and PC. This title is based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, with the final three novels completed by Brandon Sanderson, and beta sign-ups are now live.
Step into The Wheel of Time universe and shape the fate of Randland
Battle for Randland is a casual digital trading card title that mixes deep deck building with lively 3D battlefields set in the world of The Wheel of Time. In this game, you’ll be able to play as powerful leaders, guiding companions and armies while weaving the Pattern through strategic deckbuilding.
At launch, you’ll be able to pick from the four distinct starter decks that capture the timeless conflict between Light and Shadow. These include Children of the Light, Flame of Tar Valon, Will of the Forsaken, and Horde of the Blight.
What makes it even better is that the devs promise to gradually replace AI-assisted art with hand-drawn and commissioned pieces. They’ve also made it clear that the game will stick to a non-pay-to-win approach, which is definitely a big plus.
Collect cards, choose factions, and harness the One Power to win battles
As an official The Wheel of Time game, I’m excited to pledge loyalty to the factions, command armies, and even wield the One Power to shape the outcome of the battles. Along the way, you can collect and master a variety of cards inspired by the saga’s rich history and legends.
