Bugsnax is a unique creature adventure game developed by Young Horses that will be coming to iOS this Summer of 2023. In the game, players traverse a mysterious island in search of the eponymous half-bug, half-snack monsters.
Explore a monster-infested land in search of a missing adventurer
Bugsnax was released in November 2020 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. In April 2022, the game was released on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. However, the development of the game to mobile was in progress during the period, and finally the game has been announced.
Players explore the mysterious Snaktooth Island in search of information about the disappearance of a missing adventurer. The basic gameplay is around locating and capturing various types of Bugsnax, the island’s half-bug, half-snack animals while encountering several Grumpuses. Throughout the game, players can capture various Bugsnax species, with over 100 varieties roaming the island.
You can utilise a variety of tools, such as the SnaxScope, which allows you to scan each snax to understand its specific patterns and tips on how to capture it, and unlocking the Snaktivator device during the game allows the player to more heavily customise each Grumpus’ appearance.
Bugsnax will enable both touch and controller support
The game will be available for iPhones, iPadOS, and tvOS on launch. Bugsnax’s iOS version will have additional touch control options, as well as controller support. This also allows players to play with third-party gamepads without worry.
There are no updates on release for Android devices yet, so it is unlikely that they will arrive anytime soon. Although we know that the game will be released on iOS this summer, no specific date has been announced for Bugsnax. So, for those waiting for the game to be released, keep an eye on the announcements and this space to ensure you don’t miss the release date.
