Smilegate has announced the upcoming launch of its collectible dark sci-fi fantasy RPG, Chaos Zero Nightmare, set for Android, iOS, and PC on 22 October. Developed by Super Creative, the game opened global pre-registration this June and held a closed beta test this month.
Dive into a dark fantasy world, meet Agents, and face Chaos
Chaos Zero Nightmare unfolds in a post-apocalyptic future where Earth and other planets are destroyed by a cosmic disaster. So, a black fog called Chaos spreads endlessly, bringing eerie monsters and swallowing planets. Here, you step in as Protos, guiding adorable Agents who stand against this threat.
I personally loved how the game leans into its dark fantasy tone, making it feel unsettling yet alive and fun. Adorable Agents like Renoa, Mika, Maribell, and more bring in variety and the exciting factor, along with factions such as Ironrain, Terrascion, and more.
Players can shape the outcome of every battle with cards and choices
But obviously, the most captivating part of the game is its tactical card-based battle system, where every run of yours plays out differently, all thanks to the diverse cards and branching decisions. For someone like me, who enjoys roguelike twists a lot, I think this will make me want to play the game more.
Overall, the game definitely shows a lot of promise, offering a dark fantasy narrative, various factions and Agents, unique cards, an ever-changing battlefield, stunning 2D illustrations, fluid animations, fully voiced characters, and more. If the final game delivers on these promises, it will really perform well.
