As the big December update makes its way to Clash Royale, a new season has also announced its grand arrival. Clash Royale brings Season 78, which is aptly titled Heroic Holidays, and brings us plenty on board. Let us dig into the details.
Clash Royale Season 78 “Heroic Holidays” December 2025 Update Overview
New Cards: Heroes
The biggest addition to the new season is the Heroes. They barge into the game, and that also brings the pause in the new Evolutions, maybe the first time ever we are not getting any Evo on board after they were introduced.
There are four Heroes introduced with this new Season. Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A, Hero Musketeer, Hero Knight, and Hero Giant. You can read the complete details in my dedicated guide for Hero cards.
Free and Diamond Pass Royale Details
With the December update, Pass Royale has undergone a big change, evolving into two separate versions based on your Arena level. This update changes how rewards work for both Free and Paid tracks, adding Hero Boxes, Wild Shards, and new Lucky Chest tiers.
Players below Arena 15 now get rewards focused on progression, including more Wild Shards and a 5-Star Lucky Chest. Players at Arena 15+ get access to monthly Heroes, Hero Boxes, and upgraded Magic Lucky Chests.

The Diamond Pass also includes the Musketeer Street Tower Skin and a new anime-style Musketeer emote, while the Free Pass mainly offers Gold Crates, Boost Potions, and Lucky Chests.
