COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022 announced with a prize pool of $25,000

A new challenger approaches!

On January 31st, 2022, one of the Call of Duty Mobile publishers Garena announced its plan for the pro scenario: a regional championship in Malaysia and Singapore titled COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022 for the year 2022. The announcement was made through their official Instagram page and special site.

Players from Malaysia and Singapore will fight for a total prize pool of $25,000 will be split amongst each participant. The winning teams of each region will secure their spots in the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship 2022 presented by Sony.

COD Mobile Garena Masters format

The esports program will take place putting 16 teams against each other for each region in league-style play over the course of five weeks. Through 1 Round of Open Qualifiers for each of Malaysia and Singapore, the top 16 teams from each country will advance to the Call of Duty Mobile Garena Masters 2022 Malaysia and Singapore Final qualifier.

Only 3 teams from Final Qualifier will advance to Group Stage, joining the 4 invited teams in the Call of Duty: Mobile Garena Masters 2022 Group Stage. Here’s when the qualifiers will take place in the respective regions.

Malaysia Qualifier

  • Malaysia Qualifier: 7th February
  • Malaysia Final Qualifier: 9th February 

Singapore Qualifier

  • Singapore Qualifier: 7th February
  • Singapore Final Qualifier: 9th February

In the Playoffs, the Top 8 final teams will compete to advance to the Grand Finals. Here the final champion of the Call of Duty: Mobile Garena Masters 2022 Malaysia and Singapore region will be crowned.

This tournament will be played in Multiplayer mode span across these modes – Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, Domination.

Also, please do not that all items including weapons/scorestreaks/operator skills/perks and others released 14 days before the start of the tournament CANNOT be used throughout the tournament. If a player of the team is found to be using any item(s) from the ban list, it will be considered as a violation and the team will incur a LOSS in that match mode.

COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022: Registration details

Registration for the COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022 Open Qualifier has now been announced by Garena. However, to compete, players must be 18 years or older at the start of the competition and meet all other eligibility requirements to be eligible. Players from Malaysia and Singapore can register for the tournament either through the link or directly from the ESL website.

COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022: Rules

Players need to create their own room (0 spectator slot). Once matched up with the opponent, players need to add the opponent and determine who will be creating the room. To find your opponent, you can chat with them through our discord community channel here.

Do remember that the team captain is responsible to invite the team members into the designated private multiplayer lobby within 5 minutes.

Side Determination

  • During the Qualifiers, the team in the upper bracket will be in the Special Forces (Blue Side), and the team in the lower bracket will be in the Guerrilla Squad (Red Side).
  • In the Group Stage and Playoffs, teams will use a ban and pick system.

Ban Pick Process

Map order, side selection, and available operator skills will be determined during the ban pick process. During the Group Stage and Playoffs, both teams will do a coin toss, the winner of the coin toss has the right to choose to be team A or team B.

Moreover, maps that have been banned or picked up cannot be re-elected (Global Ban/Pick Map). The Ban/Pick Map platform will be informed by the Committee.

  • Team A bans one map from the Map Pool.
  • Team B bans one map from the Map Pool.

Game 1: Hardpoint

  • Team A selects the Hardpoint map.
  • Team B picks a side.

Game 2: Search and Destroy

  • Team B selects the Search and Destroy map.
  • Team A chooses a side.

Game 3: Domination

  • Team A selects the Domination map.
  • Team B picks a side.

Best of 5 matches

  • Team A bans one map from the Map Pool.
  • Team B bans one map from the Map Pool.

Game 1: Hardpoint

  • Team A selects the Hardpoint map.
  • Team B picks a side.

Game 2: Search and Destroy

  • Team B selects the Search and Destroy map.
  • Team A chooses a side.

Game 3: Domination

  • Team A selects the Domination map.
  • Team B picks a side

Game 4: Hardpoint

  • Team B selects the Hardpoint map.
  • Team A chooses a side

Game 5: Search and Destroy

  • Team A selects the Search and Destroy map.
  • Team B picks a side.

If the team representative is not present when the Ban/Pick is held, then the committee has the right to choose a random map to be banned or picked.

And in the case of Operator Skills, Once a team has completed the pick map ban process, each team will ban one Operator Skill for all games. Team B will ban operator skills first. Once the Operator Skill has been banned, it cannot be used by both teams during the match. If there is a team that uses the Operator Skill that has been banned, then that team will incur a LOSS in that mode, and points will be awarded to the opposing team.

A prize pool of $25,000 will be up for grabs

The total prize pool of COD Mobile Garena Masters 2022 is $25,000 which will be split among players into both regions for teams who qualify for the Call of Duty Mobile Garena Masters 200 Finals.

Matches will be broadcasted live and players can watch the stream via the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Garena COD Mobile. Although there is nothing about third-party broadcasts, check with other stream hosts if they plan on doing something about it.
