gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2025 Day 4 Highlights
A grand closing to the unforgettable four-day event

The energy across the halls was electric as fans, creators, and industry leaders gathered to celebrate Southeast Asia’s newest gaming powerhouse event. With 206,159 attendees, it was clear that this partnership has set a new benchmark for gaming in the region with this historic first event.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominates at the Thailand Game Awards
For the final day, Thailand Game Awards took the spotlight, where players’ voices shaped the night’s biggest honors. Here, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 swept four major categories, including Game of the Year, proving how influential Thai gamers have become in the gaming scene. This makes me want to clear the game once more.

In addition, HoYoverse won the Best Game Publisher, Honkai: Star Rail as the Best Ongoing Game, and Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which won Players’ Choice Game Of The Year at the GamingonPhone Awards 2025, claimed the Best Mobile Game here. And there’s more.
Minister Supajee Suthamphan’s take on creativity and soft power
During the closing ceremony, Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Mrs. Supajee Suthamphan, delivered a heartfelt message about the creative spirit of the event. She spoke about “fathers and children who worked together on the game,” describing it as a symbol of cross-generational creativity.

She further conveyed, “What I particularly admire is that many game developers, though not Thai, have used the beauty and uniqueness of Thailand.” According to her, this is actually the true soft power, allowing “players worldwide to experience and understand Thailand through their splendid gaming experiences.“
Thailand’s growing gaming economy takes the spotlight
The Minister also revealed the impressive business impact of the event, with deals already exceeding 1,220 million baht, and we can look forward to “projected additional value of nearly 1,000 million baht over the next 2-5 years.“

It feels nice to see how gaming is driving both culture and economy in Thailand, and this moment perfectly showed how the event acted as a launch pad for Thai creators into the global gaming market.
Global leaders also reflected on a bright future
Adding to the above sentiment, Mathias Kuepper, the Managing Director & VP Asia-Pacific at Koelnmesse, praised the passion and creativity that filled the show. He spoke about the collaboration between fans, creators, publishers, investors, and developers, and said, “We are onto something really, really great here… we’re here to stay, to grow this event together with all our partners.“
As the curtains closed, it felt like the start of something even better. With the next edition already confirmed for Bangkok from 29 October to 1 November 2026, I can’t wait to see how this exciting event will further grow!
