The Genshin Impact Version 5.4 update, titled “Moonlight Amidst Dreams,” arrives on February 12th, 2025, offering exciting new gameplay features. In this patch, we go back to Inazuma and meet familiar friends and new friendly faces, with the introduction of a new character Yumemizuki Mizuki along with enjoying the Mikawa Flower Festival!
New Playable Characters and Re-Runs
Yumemizuki Mizuki: 5-star Anemo Catalyst user
A curious new Inazuma character is making her first debut. Yumemizuki Mizuki is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst user. Her Dreamdrifter state, triggered by her Elemental Skill, deals with AoE Anemo DMG and enhances Swirl DMG for the team. Her Elemental Burst summons a Mini Baku that creates Yumemi Style Special Snacks.
Depending on the party member’s HP, these Snacks either heal or explode for AoE Anemo DMG. Talk about versatility! What’s more exciting is her backstory as she’s said to be a clinical psychologist and a shareholder of the Aisa Bathhouse who is childhood friends with Yae Miko.
Another thing to note is that Mizuki will be joining the Standard Wish banner in Version 5.5. So you will have a chance to obtain her in the Standard Banner if you don’t get her in her rate-up banner!
Re-runs and Chronicled Wish
Mizuki’s debut, alongside Sigewinne’s rerun, makes the first half of Version 5.4’s Event Wishes. After that, we’ll also get reruns for Furina and Wriothesley in the second half of the update. This roster has something for everyone!
Mikawa Flower Festival and Limited Events
First up, the Mikawa Flower Festival in Inazuma is the patch’s upcoming flagship event. This centuries-old festival, celebrating the bond between humans and youkai, sounds like the perfect setting for heartfelt reunions and thrilling challenges. Raiden Shogun herself will make an appearance, investigating a mysterious nightmare that’s bound to keep us all on edge.
Exciting Festival Games
The event will of course come with many exciting mini-games! I’m particularly intrigued by “A Little Fox’s Daydream,” where you guide a fox through dreamy landscapes to collect Fried Tofu. For puzzle lovers, “Bunshin Phantasm” seems like a mind-bending experience where strategy is key. Plus, the updated “Akitsu Harpastum” will test our reflexes as we dodge bullets and return the harpastum. Sounds chaotic in the best way!
The Festival Stamps (in-game event currency) can be exchanged for various rewards, including the new 4-Star Polearm, “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.” I can already picture it fitting perfectly into certain character builds!
Additional Limited Events
Beyond the characters and events, the update brings other various Limited events to earn primogems and other various rewards. “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter“, “Reel Ad-Venture,”, “Invasive Fish Wrangler,” and “Realm of Tempered Valor” are the various limited events that will be available throughout the patch.
New Permanent features and QOL updates
The new Level-Up Plans in the Training Guide will make character progression so much smoother, especially for newer players. The streamlined filter systems for Characters and Weapons are another welcome change, as is the Auto Add button for Weapon Refinement. These tweaks may seem small, but they’re quality-of-life improvements that will save so much time and effort in the long run.
Overall, Version 5.4 feels like a great patch for all the Inazuma fans like us. From the enchanting festival vibes to the innovative gameplay mechanics and thoughtful optimizations, it’s clear that HoYoverse is going all out. Whether you’re here for the storytelling, the challenges, or the chance to pull for Mizuki and other rerun characters, this update promises something special for everyone!
