Gun Force: Action Shooting is a Contra-like shooter now available as early access on Android

Side Scrolling shooter action for players!

A brand new side-scrolling shooter has now arrived on mobile. This one might give fans of the old-school Contra titles a serious dose of nostalgia as it looks exactly like it, albeit with some changes. Gun Force: Action Shooting, is a run-and-gun 2D shooter with roguelike elements and is now available as early access on Android.

Lead an army of armed resistance fighters in Gun Force: Action Shooting

The game puts players in the lead of a resistance group of fighters called the Gun Force with an armory packed with some heavy firepower. During levels, players will be taking on biotech soldiers, weaponized machinery, boss fights, and collecting different fighters. The game features many different locations, special skills for each of the fighters players can control, and more.

Gun Force: Action Shooting has been developed by ONESOFT GLOBAL, who seem to only ever copy other, more popular titles, especially those of the retro kind. It’s obvious from the trailer that players can’t expect the actual Contra experience or anything too new or creative. But for what it is, it doesn’t seem to be all too bad. It just gives off strong knock-off vibes. However, if you want an officially licensed experience you can check out something like Contra Returns.

If you’re in the market for a side-scrolling shooter and find the idea of something reminiscent of Contra interesting, then Gun Force: Action Shooting could be something you try out. Players can get their hands on the game by going over to its Google Play Store page, where it’s currently in Early Access. There’s no word on an iOS version right now.
