IO Interactive A/S has announced a very intriguing collaboration between their action strategy title, HITMAN World of Assassination, and the Rap God, Eminem. Scheduled from December 1 until December 31, the game is bringing Eminem and his alter ego, Slim Shady, as an Elusive Target.
Hunt down the actual Slim Shady, as Eminem wants him to go away for real
So, you can soon meet, or to be precise, hunt down the Real Slim Shady, as Hitman World of Assassination is bringing a face-off between Eminem and his alter ego, Slim Shady. To be extremely honest, I never thought I would get to see such a collab in a game that I enjoyed during childhood, so it’s making me super nostalgic.
For those few unaware of Hitman World of Assassination, it is a stealth-action title that was released just a few months back. What makes it so interesting is the fact that it lets you enjoy the best of HITMAN 1, 2, and 3 into one complete trilogy package. In this port, you can enjoy modes like Contracts, Escalation, and now the new Elusive Target.
Players can chase Slim through surreal areas and uncover references
Lore-wise, Em has been trying to put his alter ego to rest, “but he keeps coming back,” so he called a professional to get the job done once and for all.” And, the Elusive Target introduces a new mission set in a warped version of Hokkaido’s medical facility, Popsomp Hills Asylum, where you can take diverse approaches to complete the contract.
Knowing Em recently explored the end of his alter ego in his new album, The Death of Slim Shady, which gives this collab more meaning. And it does feel somewhat symbolic to have Agent 47 deal with the final chapter of this character that refuses to disappear. I’m eager to track down Slim in various areas of the Asylum, including his broadcast studio.
While the inclusion of doctors, patients, and performers makes it intriguing, as a fan of Em, I love that it also adds various references from his entire career, like a poisoned plate of the iconic Mom’s Spaghetti, and even a performance of his new song, Houdini. I feel like this will be even better than the Bruce Lee collab.
