HoYoverse has revealed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.4, titled “Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream,” is scheduled to launch on October 11th, 2023. This forthcoming update will introduce fresh in-game locations, including the Old Weapons Testing Ground and Pillars of Creation. Additionally, gamers can look forward to the release of an exhilarating new video game called Aetherium Wars and the commencement of the Planar Infinity event within the acclaimed Simulated Universe.
Furthermore, this update will bring with it the much-anticipated introduction of characters like Jingliu, Guinaifen, Topaz & Numby, and the beloved Seele, who can now be recruited to join Trailblazer’s epic space journey across multiple platforms, including PC, iOS, Android, and the recently added PS5.

After achieving significant victories, including the defeat of Phantylia, the resolution of the Ambrosial Arbor crisis, and participation in the restoration of the Xianzhou Luofu, a new chapter unfolds in Jarilo-VI. This unexplored territory will play a pivotal role in Version 1.4’s storyline and gameplay.
Topaz, a rising star within the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC)’s Strategic Investment Department, is on their way to Jarilo-VI to address intergalactic business matters. Here, the Astral Express Crew will delve deep into the connection between the frozen plant and IPC.
Meanwhile, Aetherium Wars, a widely recognized leading video game, extends an invitation to trailblazers. Participants are required to utilize Aether Spirits, digital counterparts of creatures, to create and train their combat companions. To secure a place in the Jarilo-VI Tournament, contenders must collect and nurture Aether Spirits in various Victory Zones across different regions. As players progress through the competition, they will acquire more potent “Overlord Aether Spirits,” which can be cultivated to enhance their combat abilities. With each step deeper into the competition, Trailblazers will face fiercer battles.
Three new playable characters will be arriving in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.4
Jingliu
Jingliu, a legendary figure in Xianzhou and the former mentor of General Jing Yuan, was renowned as the most formidable swordmaster among the High-Cloud Quintet on Luofu. Historical accounts from Xianzhou reveal that she was captured by the Ten-Lords even before the mara crisis began and subsequently imprisoned in The Shackling Prison. The famous clash with her disciple, Jing Yuan, would occur later, and the events following that encounter, as well as the reasons for her return to Luofu, remain shrouded in secrecy.
On the battlefield, Jingliu is a practitioner of the Ice-Type technique, specializing in the Path of Destruction and utilizing two distinct combat states. Whether in her ordinary form or when she enters her red-eyed “Spectral Transmigration” state, it is beyond question that Jingliu stands as an unparalleled swordmaster, possessing the ability to triumph over daunting challenges and adversaries through her extensive expertise, finesse, and the formidable power of mara coursing through her.
Topaz and Numby
Topaz, previously introduced, emerges as a rising star within the IPC. By their side stands Numby, a dedicated Warp Trotter, serving as Topaz’s loyal companion, both in professional endeavors and on the battlefield. Numby possesses a strong determination to detect sources of wealth, aiding in security screenings, resolving debts, and performing calculations.
Their joint efforts take them across the vast cosmos, addressing potential debt disputes that could jeopardize the IPC’s operations. Identifying as Fire-Type characters on the Path of The Hunt, Topaz, and Numby now offer their combined wisdom to support the Astral Express in its exploration efforts. Trailblazers have the opportunity to witness and benefit from their distinctive effects and damages during the engaging interactions of Topaz and Numby.
Guinaifen
She is a versatile street performer known for her proficiency in various skills, including livestreaming and Kuaiban. Despite not hailing from Xianzhou originally, she exhibits a deep passion for its rich and intricate culture. Guinaifen, the Fire-Type character, is dedicated to following the Path of Nihility.
Her combat abilities primarily revolve around the utilization of firecrackers, a practice that aligns with an ancient myth suggesting that Xianzhou’s inhabitants employed these explosive devices to repel menacing creatures. Her unwavering commitment to embracing the customs and heritage of Xianzhou likely constitutes the primary reason why local residents extend their support to her.
In addition to exploring the cosmos, Trailblazers have the option to participate in the “Time to Feast! Astral Express Pit Stop” event, where they can savor delectable cuisine prepared by the conductor and the “chef” known as Pom-Pom. Those taking part will have the opportunity to relish the specialized dishes of Honkai: Star Rail and acquire exclusive merchandise. Honkai: Star Rail is set to launch its space adventure on the PS5 platform on October 11, alongside the 1.4 version update.
