Honor of Kings announces its Asian Games version and it has differences from the existing HoK BR version

Will contain heroes from both versions

Arena of Valor, the global version of the popular action MOBA Honor of Kings, has announced its Asian Games version which has a few differences from the existing version. The 19th Asian Games 2022, set to be held in Hangzhou in China this year in September 2023, was postponed last year.

The Asian Games version announcement was made back in 2021

Esports is making its second appearance in the Asian Games, following its initial inclusion as a demonstration event in 2018, but first time as an event. After the game was announced as an official esports event in 2021, the makers announced that they would create a new version solely for the Asian Games which will incorporate heroes from both Arena of Valor and Honor of Kings.

For the event, Honor of Kings has developed a custom version of the game that prioritizes its core competitive features while reducing the emphasis on socialization, commercialization, and non-battle systems. The game will consist of two teams, namely blue and red, each comprised of 5 players.

The version will include a roster of heroes from both games

In the Asian Games Version, there is a notable roster of 63 distinct heroes, with 51 hailing from Honor of Kings and 12 originating from Arena of Valor. Players can select from 5 different positions: clash lane, farm lane, mid lane, jungling, and roaming. The following is the hero list for the Asian Games Version, with the heroes marked in red indicating their inclusion.

The battleground for this intense competition will take place in Hero’s Gorge, which showcases various elements such as Minion Waves, Jungles, Rivers, and Mechanisms for which they can secure victory by demolishing the opponent’s crystal. The version’s map, monsters, and other battlefield elements will be based on the Honor of Kings S30 edition.
