KADOKAWA Corporation has announced to launch their upcoming match-3 puzzle title, Oshi no Ko: Puzzle Star, on February 25, 2026 on both Android and iOS in Japan. Developed by NHN, this is also the first puzzle game based on the beloved anime series, Oshi no Ko or My Favorite Idol’s Child.
Get ready to match vibrant gems with your favorite idols
So, Oshi no Ko: Puzzle Star is a new match-3 puzzle title based on Aka Akasaka’s beloved manga series. Here, you can solve puzzles alongside your favorite characters like Ai, Aqua, and Ruby, by matching three vibrant pieces together to clear stages and unlock famous anime scenes.
If you’ve not seen the anime, it’s well loved in Japan and worldwide thanks to it’s solid storytelling, and showcase of idol culture and parasocial relationship. Which is why I’m also eager to try this title, though I wish it was more than a simple match-3 puzzler. But I’ll sure diehard fans are still going to love it.
But what I really liked are the original card illustrations supervised by none other than Hirona Hirayama, the anime’s Chief Animation director. And it’s not just visuals alone, since they also help you gain advantage in stages. Overall, it looks fun with puzzles, chapters, exclusive original costumes, and more.
My Favorite Child Puzzle Star is launching on February 25, 2026 on both Android and iOS in Japan. So, you can now pre-register the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. By pre-registering, you’ll earn various milestone rewards like Diamonds, Costumes, and more.
