- It was originally planned before Kantai Collection but delayed due to its success.
C2Architecture has announced their new historical science-fiction strategy RPG, Ki-Gou Keikaku, set for both mobile and PC. This studio is behind the beloved Kantai Collection, and has revealed that this fully 3D game is currently in development.
Get ready to explore a long-awaited project with mech battles and anime-like characters
So, Ki-Gou Keikaku looks like an intriguing mix of history and sci-fi, set in an alternate Showa era where mechs are part of the battlefield. It is developed as a fully 3D SRPG with a strong priority of new communication systems. Plus, the main character designs are handled by none other than Konishi and Shibafu.
From what the devs shared on X(Twitter), this project actually existed before Kantai Collection became the hit title we love today. And because of the game’s massive success, this one ended up taking the backseat as the team was busy on Kantai Collection. But I love that they didn’t abandon it and the game is instead evolving into a large-scale project over the years.
That said, there is still very little details available, but we can still expect a lot since it’s from the devs behind such an iconic game. I mean it grew into a huge multimedia franchise with manga, anime, and more. And looking at the images, this one seems to lean towards a World War setting with anime-style characters.
Ki-Gou Keikaku is currently in development and will launch on mobile and PC. However, the game is not yet listed on app stores. And, there is no proper detail regarding the launch dates. So, stay tuned for more updates!
