The game, Front Mission 2089: Borderscape, a brand new mobile game, was being developed by Chinese developer ZlongGames and its subsidiary BlackJack Studio was also being backed by Square Enix until recently. But according to several reports, the two parties involved have broken down the talks of the game being developed, and the idea of releasing Front Mission 2089: Borderscape as a mobile title has reportedly been canceled.
The game Front Mission 2089: Borderscape has announced around 6 months ago, the developers also launched the pre-registration for the game, and the game also got a good reception from the fans, but now they have decided to not continue with the project.
BlackJack Studio is yet to specify a reason behind the game’s cancellation
The developers did not explain much as to why the project was being abandoned but they did post a short message on the official website of Front Mission 2089: Borderscape, which is now not accessible. The Developers added “after careful evaluation of the current version, they respect the Front Mission series” and “the two sides have canceled the cooperation on the mobile game for the Front Mission IP.”

The official website and the official social media handles on Twitter, and Facebook have all been deleted, and the relevant videos on the handles of developers have also been deleted, hence all this solidifies the claim that the game is no longer in production.

The Game developers, BlackJack have however announced a new game that looks and feels very similar to the canceled Front Mission 2089: Borderscape, by the title of Mecharashi. The beta test for Mecharashi is currently taking place from December 16th and will conclude on December 29th. The game however is said to be running on a different story plot which is different from the canceled title, but the gameplay still looks very reminiscent.
