Niantic is working on making the Pokemon GO raid a better experience

Niantic has partnered with RIT Geo Games and Media Research Lab to improve the raid experience for the players of Pokemon GO. RIT is an interdisciplinary research lab sponsored by Niantic. Niantic aims to make the raiding more exciting and seamless for players by collaborating with them. as detailed in a Reddit post, The players will be interviewed to know the problems they face now and what can be done to eliminate them.

Raiding is a very important aspect of Pokemon GO where players team up to defeat a boss Pokemon who has taken over a gym (gyms are points of interest found throughout the world where Trainers can battle the Pokémon of rival teams).

Details of the collaboration between Niantic and RIT to improve Pokemon Go raids

The hit game has seen many changes and upgrades since it was launched in 2016. One of the most enjoyable and exciting aspects of the game is raiding. It is through raiding that players team up and enjoy the game to its fullest.

On January 7th, 2022, the Reddit post revealed the partnership between RIT Geo Games and Media Research Lab where they will directly interview players and use their feedback to bring improvements on raiding in Pokemon GO.

Previously the game has seen the introduction of Powered-Up PokeStops and Adventure Sync. By improving raiding the developers want to leave no stones unturned when it comes to the gameplay experience. This interview will help the dev team to understand what the game needs to improve the raiding. Players participating in the interview will also be rewarded with 3 Super incubators, 8 incense, and 8 lucky eggs.

As the number of multiplayer games keeps growing and mobile devices become more adept in running high-octane games, it will be interesting to see whether other developers also follow Niantic’s strategy in the future.
