Nukebox Studios announces the launch of its NFT Games division

The studio is set to work on “Play-to-earn” titles

Nukebox Studios, the developers of titles like SpongeBob: Krusty Cookoff, Food Truck Chef, and Room Flip, are entering the Web 3.0 world with their blockchain division eventually moving into NFT games.

The developer and publisher have announced this move in an official blog post where they discuss their plans going forward into the blockchain and how they want to create games with Web 3.0 elements without compromising on quality.

The studio aims to provide AAA gaming experience fused with blockchain technology

They acknowledge how several other studios are jumping onto the bandwagon to create soulless titles simply riding on the back of the Blockchain hype. Nukebox intends to do something different and create free-to-play games on the basis of concepts like the Metaverse that are enjoyable to players. It is likely that they’ll make use of NFTs too although it’s not outright mentioned in the post.

We want to focus on making high-quality games that are long-lasting. At the same time, we understand the reality of the ecosystem and are aiming to cater to all the 3 types of audiences: Players, Earners, and Investors. We want to use our decade-long experience in game development to deliver AAA-quality experiences in this new space.

Nukebox Studios is looking for effective ways to engage players with their NFTs

Although the hype around the blockchain, NFTs, and the Metaverse is still alive, many say that Web 3.0 might not remain popular and might just be forgotten as a fad. So games based on these new concepts certainly have to figure out a way to engage players lest their games die if (and once) the hype is over.

That being said, since the studio has promised something different and has some very experienced people on board, it should be interesting to see where they go with these new plans.
