The community of Pokémon GO has been kept active through a variety of events already taking place and more coming up soon. And amongst them Pokemon GO has announced a new event in collaboration with Detective Pikachu Returns, celebrating the launch of the Switch game in October 2023.
The Pokémon GO x Detective Pikachu Returns crossover event will bring plethora of rewards
The Detective Pikachu Returns event for Pokémon GO is kicking off on October 5 at 10 a.m. until October 9 at 8 p.m. local time. 13 Pokemon will have higher spawn rates as a result of the event, including a Slowpoke and a Pikachu dressed as a detective from the film Detective Pikachu. By developing Pikachu, players can obtain a Raichu sporting a detective hat.
While this is going on, shiny versions of Alolan Exeggutor, Magikarp, Xatu, Bellossom, Lotad, Chimecho, and Bronzor can be found. Growlithe, Ducklett, Cutiefly, and Falinks round out the list. Throughout the event, players can do themed Field Research chores to get Sudowoodo, Snivy, and Rowlett encounters. Field Research objectives must be completed in order for Pokemon GO users to accomplish the themed Collecting Challenge.

Furthermore, Double XP can be obtained by spinning PokeStops as part of the crossover event between Pokémon GO and Detective Pikachu Returns. For players that take pictures in Pokémon GO, there is a daily possibility that a Pikachu wearing a detective hat will show up.

Players that finish the Event Timed Research will see the same Pikachu, which can be obtained until October 9 at 8 p.m. local time. On October 5, Pokémon GO will launch the Detective Pikachu Avatar Pose at the in-game shop.
