Niantic has just revealed another Pokemon GO event, this one honoring the Día de Muertos 2022 festival. November 1-2 sees the celebration of Día de Muertos, a day set aside in Mexico and other Americas to honor the memories and lives of those who have passed on to the other side.
For the third year in a row, Pokemon Go has chosen to commemorate the occasion by offering trainers all across the world a range of challenges and rare spawns. In an ancient Aztec tradition, it was said that the spirits of our loved ones never go away but simply travel to a different world, and during a special time each year, they would return to our world.
Ever since, people that celebrate Día de Muertos get ready for this occasion, setting the table with the favorite dishes of their ancestors, covering the streets with petals of the cempasúchil flower, and lighting candles and incense to enjoy a joyful celebration full of colors, music, flowers, and flavors.
New Pokemon in Día de Muertos event
New costumed Pokémon will appear during this event running from Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. You can use 25 Duskull Candy to evolve Duskull into Dusclops, and 100 Duskull Candy to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir.
Wild encounters
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean can look forward to featured event Pokémon appearing even more often in the wild.
Incense and Lure Encounters
The following Pokémon will be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules. Trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean can look forward to even more encounters with featured event Pokémon when using Incense and Lure Modules.
Field Research Task Encounters
The following Pokémon will be available to encounter by completing Field Research tasks.

You can dress for the occasion with a new Día de Muertos avatar item! This item will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during this event and will continue to be available after the event ends.
