Pokémon GO kickstarts 2022 with the Mountains of Power Event and Bulbasaur Community Day

Lots of things set to arrive in Pokémon Go in 2022!

Pokémon Go is all set to start 2022 with a variety of events and activities in the month of January. Pokémon GO’s first event of 2022, The Mountains of Power event, will be from Friday, 7th of January, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. and ends on Thursday, 13th of January, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Later in the month, trainers can look forward to Bulbasaur Community Day on the 22nd of January, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, celebrating the fan-favorite, Bulbasaur.

Pokémon GO Mountains of Power Event

Spark’s intuition leads him to believe that the mysterious door’s second mechanism requires the help of Rock and Steel-type Pokémon to unlock it. Journey through the terrain reminiscent of the mountains are found in regions like Johto and Sinnoh, and work with Spark to unlock the next mechanism!

Event Bonus

Trainers earn hearts with their buddies after 1/2 walking distance.

Timed Research

The event will feature timed research focused on catching Pokémon, hatching Eggs, and earning Buddy Candy. He must complete the tasks to earn encounters with Pokémon like Mawile and Beldum!

Wild Encounters

If the trainers are lucky they will be able to encounter a Shiny Slugma. The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild:

  • Zubat
  • Machop
  • Geodude
  • Slugma
  • Nosepass
  • Barboach

Lucky trainers will encounter the following:

Pokémon Raids

For the first time in Pokémon GO, Mega Aerodactyl will be available in Mega Raids. The following Pokémon will be appearing in raids:

    • Ursaring
    • Donphan
    • Medicham
    • Absol
  • Five Star Raids
    • Heatran

Field Research Task Encounters in Mountains of Power Event

The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when Trainers complete Field Research tasks:

Pokémon GO Community Day Classic featuring Bulbasaur

Trainers get to return to the roots of Community Day during the Season of Heritage. As a special treat, Pokémon GO will be holding Community Day Classic and bringing back a favorite, Bulbasaur! Trainers can spot Bulbasaur more frequently in the wild. Lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny one!

Exclusive Attack

Evolve Ivysaur (Bulbasaur’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Venusaur that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.

Pokémon GO Community Day Special Research Story: Bulbasaur Community Day Classic

  • For US$1.00, or the equivalent pricing tier as per local currency, trainers will be able to access the Bulbasaur Community Day Classic-exclusive Special Research story: Bulbasaur Community Day Classic.
  • One must stay tuned for the tickets for the Bulbasaur Community Day Classic Special Research story go live!
