Story Highlights
  • NetEase Games has officially secured a license for Project: Extreme, listed as "Extreme Battlefield" in China.
  • No official announcements have been made yet, but players can expect news soon with China as the primary focus.

NetEase Games has officially registered its latest title, Project: Extreme, for release in China. Going by the game listings previously, expect some announcements and test phases in the coming days, based on the registration being approved.

Project: Extreme is a survival-shooter set in a fractured world with isolated Void Zones

As per the norm, National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA), the office responsible for licensing video games in China, the April 2025 list saw the inclusion of this title. Listed as “Extreme Battlefield”, the game secured its publication license on April 18, 2025.

Okay, let me jump into the details now. From the Steam page for PC, which hasn’t opened wishlisting yet, Project: Extreme is mentioned as a survival-shooter set in a shattered world called GC-083. Here, violent storms and space-time fractures have split the land into isolated zones known as Void Zones.

You step into the shoes of an investigator sent to uncover the cause of the collapse, only to find yourself fighting for survival. Each mission demands you to scavenge supplies, fend off hostile survivors, and escape safely to upgrade your bases and gear.

Again, whenever we get any shooter title on board, comparisons are bound to happen. The same case here, as the game is already being compared to Arena Breakout and the recently launched Delta Force, both from the house of Tencent Games.

The gameplay visuals also say the same, although there are a few similarities, which is expected, the game seems to have its own identity. Also, the game was floated a couple of years ago, but it looks like the official approval only came through recently.

Well, for now, nothing official has come out regarding the game, but expect announcements soon, with a reference to China as usual. For the release, for now, Android, iOS, and PC seem to be the platforms, but more can be added for sure.
