Exciting news for mobile card game enthusiasts as NetEase, the renowned mobile game developer has just released Project IN, a new card-based game currently in early access in the Philippines. The game aims to take a more unique approach to the genre and goes beyond being “just a card game”.
Project IN: New kid on the block
Card games have been in the mobile market for quite a long time now with the most notable one being, of course, Gwent by CD Projekt Red, developers of the universally acclaimed Witcher series on PC. Project IN looks set to be yet another one in the market. However, the game is not only a card-based game but also brands itself as a “tower defense RPG”.
Players in Project IN are encouraged to slaughter hordes of incoming monsters using various techniques, traps, turrets, and more. Every player is tasked with assembling a team of the best heroes possible to tackle the horrors present in the game world. Naturally, one won’t get access to the best heroes or abilities right away so you can expect a bit of a grind when you start off.

The game itself is set in a steampunk-esque world. The world has been destroyed by an event known as the “catastrophe” which is responsible for the hordes of wild monsters running around. However, many years later, humanity seems to be rebuilding. The player will have access to 20 legendary heroes, 17 elite legions, and 10 defense installations thus providing a highly versatile experience for every player.
The rebuilding world of humanity can be explored by the player and is backed by stunning visuals along with a beautiful art style. Project IN is still in early access so you can expect some performance hiccups as well as some minor bugs but given NetEase’s track record, it could very well be a blast to play. The game is currently available for Android users on Google Play Store.
