- Yoshitaka Amano, the renowned artist, worked on the original creature Mortem, a symbol of hidden fear and anxiety.
Aniplex Inc. and JOYCITY Corp have announced the launch of their survival horror strategy title, Resident Evil Survival Unit, now available on both Android and iOS. Pre-registration for this new addition began in July during its reveal, followed by a soft launch in select regions this September.
Rebuild and defend your base, and face the unknown infection
If you’re a longtime RE fan like me, it’s time to gear up for a new experience. Resident Evil Survival Unit, co-developed with JOYCITY Corporation, is bringing a fresh mix of horror and deep strategy to mobile. Set in a parallel world inspired by the beloved RE universe, you step in as a survivor embarking on a new kind of survival adventure.

So, lore-wise, a mysterious infection rapidly destroyed the city, and you’ll need to build a base around an abandoned mansion. Later on, you further have to repair its facilities and manage resources, defenses, and research crucial tech.

And, each survivor has unique strengths in combat, gathering, and technology, and assigning them to proper roles is key to survival. You can also enjoy puzzle-based survival challenges in addition to the single-player missions.
Players can recruit, assign roles, and even survive together with other groups
While it is great that we’ll get to see familiar faces like Leon, Claire, and Jill, I’m even more curious about meeting other survivor groups, especially since I like titles that let me decide between alliance and rivalry. Oh, Yoshitaka Amano, the world-renowned artist, also worked on he original creature Mortem as a guest designer.
Not going to lie, I’ve followed the RE franchise since I was a kid, though I skipped a few additions along the way. But this new exclusive story that the devs say expands beyond the series sounds like a good reason to dive back in. The real-time defense missions, combat loadout, creatures, and more look enjoyable.
Resident Evil Survival Unit is now available on both Android and iOS. You can now download the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. More regions will follow soon.
