Ride Kamens, a new game based on the popular Kamen Rider franchise is coming to Android and iOS

Kamen Rider on mobile!

An exciting new mobile title is all set to join the cherished Kamen Rider franchise. Titled Ride Kamens, the game is scheduled for release on both Android and iOS platforms. I personally have a lot of connection to this franchise, and looking at the visuals, it looks like we have an action RPG in our hands.

Ride Kamens game will aim to bank on the legacy of Kamen Rider

From the info we know currently, Liber Entertainment is developing Ride Kamens, managed under Bandai Namco. They filed a trademark for the project on October 19, 2023. Several popular names are part of this project, with Yuya Takahashi crafting the storyline, who is known for his work as a scriptwriter on projects like Kamen Rider Geats and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid.

Supervising the world-building process is Naomi Takebe, a producer renowned for her contributions to series such as Kamen Rider Geats, Kamen Rider Gaim, and others. The initial character designs are provided by Hiroko Utsumi. It is expected that upon launch Ride Kamens will be free to play but will offer in-app purchases.

The plot follows the character who is the heir of the Cosmos conglomerate. When he finds out that his father was an agent who supported Kamen Rider, he decides to become an agent too, following in his father’s footsteps. He’s known for his determination and strong will. Alongside his butler, Leon, he manages Rider Station, which is the base for Kamen Riders. They also have a social hangout called “Kamen Cafe.”

If you are not familiar with the Kamen Rider franchise, let me tell you, this is huge. It is a long-running Japanese superhero franchise featuring characters known as Kamen Riders. Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the series began in 1971 with the original Kamen Rider TV series. I’ve spent my childhood collecting cards and playing them, and I do remember a couple of pretty popular toys.

The world building is mentioned, so I hope this is something big, say an open-world environment. Pre-registration for iOS is live on the App Store with Android coming soon. Release plans aren’t shared yet, but here’s hoping we get a global version too, and at the earliest possible. You can check the official website for updates.
