Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade, an online strategy game by Lilith Games, has silently made its way back to app stores in India. The game is now available for download on both Android and iOS, although there is something important you should take note of, which I will explain next.
Rise of Kingdoms was part of the 2020 ban on apps and games in India
For context, Rise of Kingdoms was among the 118 apps and games banned by the Indian government in September 2020, as part of safety measures for these apps misusing data. Since then, players from the region have had limited ways to access the game, often relying on .apk builds or playing from alternate regions.

Rise of Kingdoms remains a real-time strategy (RTS) experience where you build a civilization, train armies, and expand your territory across a shared world map. You can choose from multiple historical civilizations, recruit legendary commanders, and engage in battles alongside or against players worldwide.
Now, it is time to tell you about the “catch”. This return comes in a slightly unexpected way, as the version currently accessible in India is the Japanese edition of the game. This is not the original global version many were familiar with and played with.
Because of this, there are a few limitations. If you were playing the global version before the ban, you won’t be able to link or recover your previous account through this version. Still, if you want to try it, check out the Google Play Store and App Store, which will help you to download and play.
While this return is a positive sign for the players, the absence of the global version and account continuity means it’s not a complete comeback just yet. Still, this is a good win incase if you stopped playing the global version.
