SEGA Corporation has announced to launch its RPG, Gintama Sumaho Battle Chronicle, or Gintama Smartphone Battle Chronicle, on both Android and iOS in February 4, 2026 in Japan. Developed by NextNinja, the game opened pre-registrations along with announcement back in November 2025.
Get ready to form your dream Gintama team and jump into fast-paced battles
So, Gintama Smartphone Battle Chronicle is a battle RPG based on Hideaki Sorachi’s beloved manga and anime series. Set in the Reiwa era, the game lets you build your dream team with fan-favorite characters like Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi, and more to engage in fun fast-paced battles.
Honestly, this feels like the perfect time for the game’s launch. With the Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames movie arriving this month, the hype is already high, especially after we got to witness Kagura facing off against Abuto in the latest trailer. So, fans will be more excited to relive the iconic anime moments here.
Coming back to gameplay, you can freely blend the familiar characters, and the chibi battles look easy thanks to simple controls. I do want to try out the special moves as the animation looks cool. Overall, the game looks worth trying, thanks to exclusive original illustrations, iconic cast, and beloved Gintama vibes.
Gintama Mobile Battle Chronicle is set to launch on both Android and iOS in February 4, 2026 in Japan. You can now pre-register for the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store. Stay tune for more updates regarding global launch.
