- Shadowverse began as a spin off of Rage of Bahamut and evolved massively over a decade.
- The game is offering the Premium Pass for free, while the Throwback Rotation reset and Battle Pass Season 23 begin from March 31.
Cygames has announced to shutdown its beloved collectible card game, Shadowverse, scheduled for June 30, 2026 globally and July 1, 2026 in Japan. Initially released in June 17, 2016 worldwide, this fan-favorite title is now now ending after 10 years of providing service.
Shadowverse grew into more than just a card game and is now ending soon
So Shadowverse, the iconic CCG is finally sunsetting after entertaining us for 10 years straight. But for those few that don’t know, it actually started as a spin-off of Rage of Bahamut, and it grew and evolved over the course of a decade, from Portalcraft, game modes, over 5,000 cards across 32 card sets, and more.
Unfortunately, the Shadowverse Team announced via X (Twitter) that the game would shutdown on May June 30, 2026, stating “The time has come for us to announce that we will be ending service for Shadowverse at 7:00 p.m., June 30, 2026 (PT). ”
Enjoy the final stretch with some generous rewards
Following the announcement, the game has disabled the purchase of Crystals and Leader Card in Three! card pack bundles, though you can still use what you’ve. On a positive side, you’ll get the Premium Pass for free, and the Throwback Rotation card pool reset and Battle Pass Season 23 begins from March 31.
It’s sad to see a game with such rich legacy come to an end, especially with several big tournaments, World Grand Prix series, spin-offs and even animated series. And many fans are now rightfully requesting for “an offline mode for the story,” though there is still option to play Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.
