Spike Chunsoft has launched their dungeon RPG, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, globally on both Android and iOS for $19.99. First available on Switch and PC in 2024, it was first announced for Japan last November and is now globally available.
Explore a variety of unpredictable dungeons and meet new allies and friends
So, I don’t have to play Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island in Japanese anymore. Now, if you’re not aware, this is a new dungeon RPG in the beloved series that takes place a few months after the events in Tsukikage Village.
You can dive into 34 different dungeons, and I really like how each run in the Mystery Dungeon reshuffles floor layouts, tools, and even the friends and foes you meet. And, it’s actually fun to learn about the dungeon’s threats, and gather resources and allies along the way for successful runs.
You can play as Koppa or Asuka and even call for rescue during your dungeon run
But I’m sure longtime fans will be happy to see Koppa and Asuka are joining as playable characters. And, while playing them is fun, but it’s the Rescue feature that I found the coolest. With this, you’re able to call on other players to save you if you collapse in a dungeon run to save you.
Overall, the game is actually very enjoyable, even though its quite premium for a mobile title. That said, the content is really great with Japanese aesthetics, adorable characters, dungeons, Rescue and Parallel Play features, seamless control, and even includes the full main game and all additional content.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Plus is now globally available on both Android and iOS for $19.99. So, you can now go ahead and download the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store.
