Square Enix has today announced an upcoming RPG mobile game Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights based on the Bravely Default series which is going to get ported to mobile devices now. The game is still under development and originally was developed and published for the Nintendo 3DS.
To celebrate the game’s 10th Anniversary, Square Enix has decided to bring the game back, but for a different platform, this time and that is a delight for the mobile gaming community.
Bravely Default game on other platforms
Bravely Default did start out as a sequel to Final Fantasy: The 4 heroes of light but then branched out and while it does have a lot of similar elements to the Final Fantasy series, it also has its own story and gameplay style. It is set in a world called Luxendarc and has a pretty good story which it received acclaim for.
It has a turn-based battle system, where players can engage in random battles or boss battles. For the mobile version, the game is going to have most if not all the original elements including the battle system and the characters.
Upon its release on the Nintendo 3DS, Bravely Default sold pretty well and received a lot of praise among gamers. Two sequels were released as well and hopefully, Square Enix and the developers working on this project will be able to replicate the game’s success on mobile platforms as well.
While the game’s release date hasn’t been made official yet by Square Enix, it is expected to be dropping around the end of next year considering the original title was launched in October 2012 and will hit ten years on the same date next year, and it will be coming out on both Android and iOS devices.
