Sami Liukka, a solo game developer, has announced his retro adventure RPG, Summer Dungeon, scheduled to launch on mobile, PC, and Mac. This title, with over a decade of development, will be available on the wishlist this year.
Get ready to dive into an ever-expanding dungeon and experience a new adventure
Summer Dungeon is a retro, Nethack-inspired adventure RPG where your choice shapes the outcomes. Set in a distant fantasy world, you can explore partly procedurally generated dungeons in real life, avoid hazards, uncover secrets, fight enemies, choose when to use your last food to camp, and heal.
The game follows the journey of Ivi, a quick-witted treasure hunter, and her loyal dinosaur companion. After getting lost in a grim dungeon full of creatures, you must find a treasure while clearing the dungeon to prevent a magical storm that threatens your homeland, and also the world.
Meet characters, enemies, and take part in turn-based grid battles
Along the way, you’ll meet characters like Adventurer Pig, a famous explorer, and Wolf, a young researcher. Built with only 216 colors, I am looking forward to exploring the retro dungeon, filled with new rooms, enemies, and secrets. You can enjoy turn-based grid battles and learn patterns of familiar enemies.
Over 10 years in the making, Summer Dungeon offers a nostalgic experience with pixel-art characters, various monsters, treasures, ghosts, romance, and more. You can even find eggs and breed new mounts like dinos, birds, or even mining robots from mechanoid eggs, which sounds cool.
Summer Dungeon is set to launch on mobile, PC, and Mac. Currently, there is no information regarding its launch date. Stay tuned in this space for more updates!
