Tencent Games is currently developing a new hero shooter title, Codenamed Shooting, which is based on the Honor of Kings IP. This project is currently in the early stages of development. Earlier, Tencent Games announced multiple games based on HOK IP in late 2022.
Get ready for a new experience set in the HoK universe with Codenamed Shooting
Codenamed Shooting is an upcoming hero shooter title that is based on the beloved Honor of Kings IP, developed by TiMi Studios’ L1 Studio using updated Unreal Engine 5. The game aims to deliver you a fresh experience while staying true to the franchise.
While specific details about the game remain limited, Codenamed Shooting is part of Tencent Games’ strategy to diversify the Honor of Kings universe, expanding it beyond MOBA and action games. I am excited to see how this game turns out.
Honor of Kings has already seen massive success, reaching 50 million downloads and generating over $100 million in revenue in its debut month. Not only that, in China, its Chinese version, King of Glory, became the first mobile game to surpass $10 billion in revenue in 2021.
The game is aiming for a global launch, with TiMi Studios actively recruiting top talents
It seems like by branching into new genres and formats, including hero shooter, Tencent Games aims to take advantage of HOK’s popularity to reach a broader audience. Though, still in the early stages, the game is targeting a global launch.

TiMi Studios is actively hiring for key roles, including Senior Special Effects designer, Senior Combat designer, and Pre-research Game Senior for Numerical Planning, all based in Chengdu, requiring over three years of work experience.
