Mayhem-Studios’ free-to-play battle royale Underworld Gang Wars (UGW) has revealed its first gameplay and the developers have talked about the release schedule of the game. Along with the latest update of India-inspired Underworld Gang Wars, the developers have released a short video, where they shared its first look at the gameplay. However, no official announcement regarding the release date came out.
Ujjwal, the head of product at Mayhem Studios, said that the team understands that it is not enough to release the game now, the game needs more upgrades in several places. Once the playtest is done and the game comes to a better shape, Underworld Gang Wars will get a release.
Underworld Gang Wars: First Gameplay look
The gameplay footage shows several in-game elements and game mechanisms which looks very similar to KRAFTON‘s PUBG Mobile. The control buttons are similar to other battle royales with a few of the basic options like peak and fire, scope, double fire buttons, crouch, prone, jump, reload, etc. Currently, the game will only feature TPP mode but the developers have plans to include the FPP as well, which may take some time.
The game also has gyroscope support so that players can aim and shoot just by tilting the devices. Players will be able to tweak the sensitivity settings, as they like. Other features like aim assist, swimming, etc. will be also available.
Although the developers did not talk anything about the map in this video, here as well the game takes a lot of inspiration from PUBG Mobile’s map. Fans will find a lot of similarities to the dock, school, pochinki, and all major areas of Erangel.
Mayhem Studios will open the community playtest soon
Mayhem Studios’ creative director Naren said, “We are currently in the alpha playtest stage. Two alpha playtest took place from an exclusive panel from Bangalore. The game will be open to participating in a community playtest to receive feedback from the players. When the period will be over, the studio will announce the launch date as well. The game is not far away from announcing the release date”.
Underworld Gang Wars (UGW) is a free-to-play battle royale mobile game ‘made for India’. Built for gangsters, the game features a gang war between two opposing sides. Players will be able to pick any side and defend with their might. The announcement of Underworld Gang Wars came in last May and the game opened its pre-registration in Google Play on the 22nd of May, 2023.
