Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is the eighth mainline entry in the Ys game series by Nihon Falcom. It was initially released on PlayStation Vita in 2016 exclusively for Japan but was later released on other platforms worldwide. The game was praised by both critics and fans alike for its amazing story and gorgeous world.
The game follows the story of Adol, an adventurer who is stranded on a cursed island with other passengers and must now cooperate with them and build a village to survive on the island. They will have to fend off dangerous beasts and explore mysterious ruins that are all over the island. Adol is also seeing visions of a blue-haired woman, he tries to uncover the mystery behind the cursed island and find the woman in his dreams.
The game features a beautifully designed world, an immersive storyline, and a fast-paced real-time combat system. Players will be able to handle three characters at once while they are battling fearsome beasts. The game refrains from making any changes to its original gameplay mechanics such as dodges and skills while bringing updated graphics and optimized controls.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Mobile version has currently only been announced for Chinese and Japanese languages and it’s not yet confirmed if it will also see an English release.
