Vizta Games, a MOONTON Games subsidiary, has launched a 2-player bullet-hell shooter title, ACECRAFT. The game offers a variety of Ace Pilots, gear, attachments, events, a variety of Boss encounters, and more. In this ACECRAFT review, I will share my impressions of the game and provide an honest rating.
For this review, I played ACECRAFT on a Motorola G32 (Android), racking up a total of 15 hours of playtime. This allowed me to fully explore and experience everything that the game has to offer, providing me with a solid foundation for a thorough analysis.

Chaotic bullet hell action mixed with roguelike depth and intense Boss fights
Starting with the review, let’s dive into the gameplay experience of ACECRAFT. The game introduces you to its lore before guiding you through a training part that teaches all the basics. The core gameplay combines bullet hell action with vertical shooter mechanics, creating a fun experience.

I found the gameplay enjoyable and engaging, grabbing your attention quickly with waves of enemies, projectiles, and thrilling Boss encounters. As you progress, the Stages ramp up in difficulty, presenting even larger hordes of enemies and relentless attacks. However, it’s a good thing as it keeps it intense.
That said, you can make use of a wide range of roguelike skills, known as attachments, to defeat enemies and take on the diverse Bosses. In addition to attachments, you can also equip Wingmans and gear to improve your performance. I also liked the different Pilots, and you can even upgrade them.
A chaotic Cuphead-style ride with some familiar nostalgic faces
ACECRAFT reminded me a lot of the iconic run-and-gun action title, Cuphead, especially how it leans into cartoony visuals and intense boss battles. Much like the classic game, it constantly throws waves of enemies and projectiles at you, creating a chaotic yet enjoyable experience.

The spirit of fast-paced, boss-centered action feels very similar, and I believe it works as a solid alternative to Cuphead, especially since it is on mobile. Moreover, replayability also shines here with a Tom and Jerry collaboration available right from the global launch.
So, besides the 8 Pilots, you can unlock and play as either Tom or Jerry with their own themed aircraft. Spike, the notorious dog that bullies Tom, also arrives as boss, and with more than 100 stages to tackle, and game modes like Balloon Party, and more, it’s hard to imagine getting bored anytime soon.
Cuphead-inspired visuals with audio that enhances the whole experience
I also believe the game looks fantastic, especially when it comes to the visuals. Its cartoony world, art style, and character designs give off that charming Cuphead-like vibe that everyone loves. I also like how everything fits really well and matches the game’s theme perfectly.

And the audio design also perfectly complements this Cuphead-like theme in the game. The team clearly did a good job with the audio part with jazz music, making it enjoyable without being distracting or annoying. At least for me, it adds to the experience, but it might be different for you.
Simple UI design and controls keep things clear and accessible
When it comes to controls and UI, ACECRAFT keeps things clean and easy to use. The user interface is intuitive, allowing you to navigate across menus, sections, and more very smoothly. And everything feels straightforward, making it accessible for both new and old players.

While some ACECRAFT ads appear at the start, which is common for MOONTON Games titles, they’re not too disruptive. And as for controls, they are simple and responsive, though new players might need a moment to get used to holding to attack and releasing to absorb projectiles.
IAPs do exist, but free rewards are enough to keep the experience fun
ACECRAFT offers a range of in-app purchases, such as Special Packs, Growth Funds, Diamonds, and more. You’ll also find an Item Shop where you can trade your Diamonds or Gold for things like EXP Soda, Blueprints, and more. If you want more, Chapter Packs include Diamonds, Skyward Recruit Ticket, Gold, and Random Blueprints.

That said, you can still get plenty of items for free by just watching ads. And like MOONTON Games’ Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the game also offers first-time purchase bonuses, so if you plan on buying 500 Diamonds, you’ll get 500 extra, and so on. This is worth it if you plan on spending some money.
Even so, you don’t necessarily have to spend money to enjoy the game fully. The game gives you a lot of free rewards at the moment, and you should take proper advantage of them to level up faster and also enhance your Pilots and Gear. I personally had a great free-to-play experience with the game.
Final Verdict
ACECRAFT is a very fun bullet-hell shooter that takes inspiration from Cuphead’s visuals and offers challenging boss encounters. With plenty of useful roguelike skills, diverse Pilots, and more than 100 different stages, the game keeps things fresh, and you won’t get bored that easily.
One of the best parts is how friendly it feels to free-to-play players. You can enjoy hours of its gameplay without spending any money, which is perfect for some casual play. While the game can get challenging at times, you can still enjoy a relaxing break from other competitive titles.
So with its charming visuals and art style, overall theme, soundtrack, fast-paced gameplay with roguelike skills, smooth control and UI, solid content, free-to-play friendly, and more, ACECRAFT is a must-try title, especially if you’re a fan of Cuphead or if you like the bullet hell shooter genre.
