HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero‘s upcoming playable characters are going to be based on the Angels of Delusion faction in the next patch, Version 2.6. I will give all the info we know about them and what information has been shared so far.

Who are the Angels of Delusion in Zenless Zone Zero
The Angels of Delusion, abbreviated as A.O.D., is a Faction in Zenless Zone Zero. They were first teased before the game was even released. The Angels of Delusion (A.O.D.) is a new virtual idol faction in the game, featuring characters like Sunna (Physical Support), Aria (Ether Anomaly), and Nangong Yu (Physical/Stunner), all from an underground idol group focused on music and performance, bringing new support roles and lore to the game.
So far, only one member (Sunna) has actually appeared onscreen during the 2.1 Version Fantasy Resort storyline. Another member (Aria) was mentioned in an event a long time ago, and that’s pretty much where their in-game appearances are, and that’s why Zenless Zone Zero fans are so eager to finally see them appear in-game as playable agents after being teased for so long.
Details of the upcoming agents
So far, Hoyoverse has officially shared only 2 characters playable character details. Aria and Sunna. No banner or playable details for Nangong Yu yet.
The details shared for Aria
Aria is an upcoming S-Rank Ether Anomaly Agent in Zenless Zone Zero and the lead vocalist of the Angels of Delusion Idol group. Her playable variant shows she’s an Intelligent Construct, which seems to be shy. She had an alternative name in the Virtual Battlefield Mayhem Event, with her name being AriaDoesNotDreamNightmares (“Virtual Battlefield Mayhem” test account), so many people may have missed her being there.
The details shared for Sunna
Sunna is an upcoming S-Rank Physical Support Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, and she is the composer of the Angels of Delusion Idol group. So far, she has actually appeared onscreen during the 2.1 Version Fantasy Resort questline, and before that, Sunna was introduced as a member, along with Aria and Nangong Yu, of the “Virtual Idols” in a BiliBili post back in CBT 3 of the game.
The details we know for Nangong Yu
She is the lead dancer of the Angels of Delusion. She is also implied/speculated to be their leader. Following official teases at The Game Awards in 2025, she is expected to debut as a playable agent in Version 2.7 as an S-Rank Physical Stunner(attributes not confirmed yet). Her design will remind you of characters from Blue Archive due to her angel-like appearance with a Halo above her head and wings behind her back.
So far she hasn’t gotten any appearance yet aside from one NPC dialogue as a reference in the game. As far as I can tell, she will be an important character during the Version 2.6 storyline, as that version will be based on the Idol group called Angels of Delusion, and I am hoping we get to see some more information about her from Hoyoverse soon.
Final Thoughts
The ZZZ 2.5 patch is one of the best yet from Hoyoverse for Zenless Zone Zero, and I hope they keep delivering it and keep breaking the expectations of the fans, and with the Idols being finally playable, hopefully they won’t disappoint, as after making us wait for so long.
