COD Mobile World Championship 2020 Stage 3 comprises of two Regional Qualifiers hosted on GameBattles for each eligible region. In order to compete in each Regional Qualifier, it is the responsibility of each player who has qualified for Stage 3, to join or create a team of Six players on GameBattles. Each player has been notified via an in-game inbox message if they have qualified for Stage 3 and if so, will have received a unique regional code along with a link to the GameBattles page to redeem it, in order to be eligible for both the Regional Qualifiers.

How to create a GameBattles account?

Every player who has qualified for COD Mobile World Championship 2020 Stage 3 will receive a unique code via an in-game inbox message in Call of Duty Mobile along with the link to the GameBattles website where the code can be redeemed. Now how to redeem the code?

  • After that, you need to provide all the necessary personal information
  • And the final step, verify your email associated with the account

Remember, only after a player has redeemed the unique code, he will be entitled to compete in both Regional Qualifiers for the respective region.

Teaming Up

For the next step, players have the option of either creating their own team or joining someone else’s team. we look into the details for both perspectives- Team owners and Team members.

About the Team Owners

A player who creates their own team will be deemed as a Team Leader and will have to accept the following responsibilities:

  • Inviting other players (who have also redeemed their codes) using their GameBattles usernames, to join their team in order to fill their roster.
    •  A complete roster requires a minimum of five eligible players and can have up to a maximum of six players.
    •  A player needs to have redeemed their unique code before being available to be invited.
  • Choosing an appropriate team name.
  • Inviting or accepting an invite from opponent team leader/member as per bracket on GameBattles.

About the Team Members

  • A player who chooses to join a team can accept their invite in GameBattles from their user profile menu.
    • Please note that a player must have redeemed their unique code for the respective Regional Qualifier prior to accepting an invite.
  • A player can assist the Team Leader in setting up the private lobby by inviting opponents as well.

Additional info about teaming up

All teams will be required to check-in to a tournament on GameBattles, beginning 12 hours prior to the registration period ending, in order to participate. Teams who register with a complete roster during this period will be automatically checked-in.

Any member of the team can check-in on the team’s behalf. If a team fails to check-in, they will be considered a no-show when the tournament begins and forfeit their first-round match.

Teams in each region will have the opportunity to compete in two separate Regional Qualifiers, conducted as per the schedule below. In other words, teams have two chances to qualify for Stage 4 Regional Playoffs.

Format of the Championship

Each Regional Qualifier tournament uses the single elimination bracket format, meaning that teams who win their matches advance and those who lose a match are eliminated. The two teams who reach the finals of each tournament will advance to the Stage 4 Regional Playoffs. The two teams in the finals will play the final match to determine the overall winner of each respective tournament and to determine seeding for the Regional Playoffs.

Each round in a Regional Qualifier will be a best-of-5 match, which means the team to win three games will win the match.  Each match will consist of Hardpoint, Search & Destroy and Domination game modes played on various maps. The maps played for each respective round of the tournament are predetermined.

Progression in COD Mobile World Championship 2020

Once the registration period has ended, players will be able to see the bracket for the current Regional Qualifier on GameBattles and whom they will be playing against in the first round. Each team leader can then view the opposing team, friend the opposition team leader (and also their teammates) in Call of Duty: Mobile using their Gamertag (i.e. their Call of Duty Mobile username), which is associated with their GameBattles username and invite them to a private match. Once the lobby has been filled with team members from both teams, both team leaders should ensure the settings for each game have been set correctly and the match can get underway.

After a match has been completed i.e. a team has won 3 games, it is recommended that both team leaders report the results of their match on GameBattles immediately so as to update the bracket. If a team wishes to dispute a result due to any issues outside of their control that affected the outcome of a match (disconnections, latency, cheating, etc.), they should raise a complaint with the GameBattles operations team via Live Chat. Please be ready to provide evidence (screenshots, videos) to the team to support your claim.

Once a team has moved on the next round and the bracket has been updated to reflect who their next opponents are, the team leaders should ensure that their team is ready to play the next round if it is scheduled to take place on the same day.

The Rewards section

The top 2 teams per Regional Qualifier tournament will advance to the Regional Playoffs i.e. Stage 4. That means a total of 4 teams will qualify for the next stage and each player on the team will win 10,000 CP in Call of Duty Mobile for their efforts.

Practice makes it perfect

This is all the information that is available at this moment. Keep checking back here as the tournament progresses.

And yes! Keep practicing hard and try out the best method-of-play suitable for you. Be it the Claw method, two-finger or thumbs only, etc. Keep in mind that being a multiplayer based tournament, there will be plenty of fast-paced action. So gear up for the next stage! And remember, even if you are eliminated in the first Regional Qualifier, you still have a chance to be one of the top two teams in the second Regional Qualifier, so keep practicing and fight on!
