Nexon’s anime-style experience Project RX is now confirmed for consoles alongside PC and mobile

Story Highlights
  • Nexon confirms Project RX will launch on consoles alongside PC and mobile.
  • The anime-style RPG is developed by Blue Archive's IO Division.
  • Unreal Engine 5 engine powers the upcoming isekai-inspired project.

Nexon has finally shared a major new detail about Project RX, the upcoming subculture RPG from the creators of Blue Archive. During Nexon’s Q1 2026 earnings presentation, the company confirmed that Project RX will now launch on consoles alongside its already announced PC and mobile versions.

Until now, most expectations were centered around a mobile and PC launch only. But with consoles now officially joining the lineup, it feels like Nexon is positioning this as a much bigger project and surely with long-term ambitions.

Project RX developers say the game aims to create a world players “want to live in”

As for the game details, Project RX is currently in development under RX Studio within Nexon Games’ IO Division, the same division best known for Blue Archive. Although announced in 2024, the game first appeared publicly back in late 2025 through a teaser that showed a world filled with anime-style girls living everyday slice-of-life moments before suddenly shifting into flashy combat scenes.

The developers themselves described Project RX as a game where players enter a world “people would actually want to live in.” The teaser especially pushed that cozy vibe with scenes of characters reading books, cooking meals, relaxing under Sakura trees, and casually spending time together.

The teaser also had stylish skill animations, mysterious occult-like enemies, and action-heavy sequences that completely shifted the tone. Even now, the developers still have not fully revealed the combat system, saying they intentionally wanted to keep some things hidden for later reveals.

One reason expectations remain high is because of the talent behind the project. Project RX is being built using Unreal Engine 5 and is led by Cha Min-seo as Producer and Yutoka Mizu as Art Director, both of whom previously worked on Blue Archive.

Back in a December 2025 development report, Nexon also revealed that the current build of RX was already playable internally. The team conducted a playtest in September, and according to the producer’s feedback, the results were “not bad at all.”

At the moment, there is still no release window for Project RX, and gameplay details remain fairly limited. But now that console support has officially entered the picture, Nexon might be slowly preparing for a much larger scale than anticipated.
