PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Europe Spring 2023: Gaimin Gladiators on its road to champions

While many might think that winning the tournament was a cakewalk for the much-experienced roster comprising of seasoned PUBG Mobile veterans, viewers will say otherwise. Gaimin’s Russian counterpart Major Pride, as well as France’s Game Lord, gave them a run for their money and Major Pride even managed to take the title run down to the wire before it got settled in the last game of the tournament.

While Major Pride got more placement points as well as twice the number of Chicken Dinners, Gaimin hit the ball home with their aggressive gameplay that got them the most kills out of everyone in the tournament. Ultimately, the mettle of the winning team was what gave them the edge against the others, aside from other in-game factors.

Besides the teams that lived up to their expectations, some fell flat as well. Madbulls and Unicorns of Love were among the favourites coming into the tournament, but Unicorns of Love displayed a show of gameplay that they would rather forget. Madbulls meanwhile took second place in the league stage but ultimately fell short in the finals, although not by a big margin.

Other teams such as Konina Power and Virtus.Pro, despite being big names did not really have what it took to take home the title but nevertheless being of such calibre, people expected better results from them. Overall, it was quite an enjoyable tournament and the teams really showed what they were capable of.

The PMPL Europe Spring 2023 had a prizepool of $100,000 that was divided among all the participating teams, with the amount of money decreasing down the order of the table. The exact amount of money that each team got has not been disclosed, but it should be similar to the other domestic leagues.

Conclusion

The top 8 teams from the PMPL Europe Spring 2023 finals have qualified for the European Championship and will fight it out against teams from other regions. Next, they will participate in Tencent‘s second largest PUBG Mobile tournament, the PMWI which is due later this year. Till then, it is hoped that all teams will retain their form and perform to the best of their abilities in the next tournament.
