- This will be a historic event for the game to share the stage with one of the most popular esports titles, MLBB.
- The game will also make its debut at the 33rd SEA Games as a demonstration event.
- The KOF collaboration will start on the 19th of November.
Magic Chess: Go Go (MCGG) has revealed the inaugural esports event for the game, titled the GO1 World Championship. It is the first offline global tournament, set to kick off alongside the M7 Carnival in January 2026. Thus, the event will feature the first international champion and share the same stage with the next Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) champions.
Besides the debut in January, MCGG will also make history at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA) by appearing as the sports event’s first mobile Auto Chess title. On top of these esports events, the ongoing season 4 of the game introduces the THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF) collaboration, the game’s first.
“This tournament embodies our vision of accessible and democratic esports. It’s evolved into a platform that empowers players, builds communities, and drives the growth of esports worldwide,” said Gao “Skyhook” Chong, MCGG Producer at MOONTON Games.
MCGG GO1 World Championship and M7 will share the same stage in Indonesia
It wasn’t long since the game introduced the Rising Stars in September, its first official international esports tournament. As the event is coming ahead now, it’s going to be a big feather in the title’s cap. The Rising Stars will also have a seat on the world stage. The first offline global championship will commence on 25 January at the M7 Carnival, which is to kick off on the 3rd of January 2026.

MCGG GO1 World Championship will feature 24 participants with regional footsteps from Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East and North America (MENA), Latin America (LATAM), and the Philippines. The prize pool will be USD 25,000.
MCGG to make historic SEA Games debut, also bringing a major event collaboration
As mentioned already, the title will make its debut at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games as a demonstration sport. This will make MCGG the first mobile Auto Chess game to be featured at the SEA Games.
Thus, the game serves as platforms that bridge countries, communities, and players across the world. It will demonstrate athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. There will be eight participant teams.
While these esports events are making everyone excited, including the officials and organizers, it is also bringing a new collaboration. The fight for glory begins anew as MCGG Season 4 launches on the 19th of November, and leading the charge is THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF) collaboration. It will feature fighter-inspired skins, powerful synergies, and new chessboard designs. The collaboration will reimagine classic arcade battles on the chessboard.
