The last quarter of a calendar year in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Esports has always remained quite bland in terms of official tournaments and events. We only see unofficial tournaments during this time period. But, in 2025, it is finally going to change.
A new official LAN tournament is already knocking on the doors in the name of Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown (BMSD). In this article, I will take you through the entire format, prize pool, and team list of BMSD 2025.
BMSD 2025: Schedule and Format
The Battlegrounds Mobile Showdown (BMSD) is going to take place just after the conclusion of the ongoing BGMI Masters Series (BGMS). The biggest highlight of BMSD is that the champions of this tournament will get a slot in the upcoming PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 in Thailand. As per sources, this tournament will be a completely LAN tournament.
The grand finals and matches of the group stages will take place in Hyderabad. BMSD will start on the 18th of September and will continue till the 12th of October, 2025. All the teams will fight each other in the imaginary world of Battlegrounds Mobile India almost every single day. Here’s an overview of the event schedule:
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Quarter Finals | Sep 26–29 |
| Semi Finals | Oct 4-7 |
| Survival Stage | Oct 8-9 |
| Grand Finals | Oct 10-12 |

Previously, we had the inaugural version of the BMSD in 2022, where the champions of that tournament went to the PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) Afterparty event. This time, the stakes are higher as the champs will go to the PMGC, the ultimate PUBG Mobile esports extravaganza.
Apart from this particular tournament, we will also have another BGMI esports tournament, in the name of BGMI India-Korea-Japan Invitational. As per rumours, the champions of this tournament will also get another shot at the PMGC 2025. This makes a guaranteed and a potential slot for the Indian teams on the international stage of PUBG Mobile esports.
