MOONTON announces collaboration with Hatten Land to launch Mobile Legends-themed esports hub

Great news for Mobile Legends fans across Malaysia

In South Asia, Mobile Legends is one of the most popular video games among the fraternity. This game undoubtedly leads the list of the greatest MOBA games in this region thanks to its widespread appeal and active player engagement. And now, MOONTON and Hatten Land have announced a collaboration to establish a Mobile Legends esports hub in Melaka, Malaysia, in response to the game’s rising popularity.

The new esports hub will be an eye-catching space for Mobile Legends players

The Element X mall in Hatten Land has been announced to house the Mobile Legends esports hub. Both the inside and outdoors of the mall will be decked out in Mobile Legends design. Outside the mall, there will also be a number of enormous outdoor installations featuring the Mobile Legends characters. Additionally, the interior will have an “attractive Mobile Legends and esports-themed design and appearance”.

Hatten Lands also announced their intention to turn the Hatten Place hotel into a five-star esports hotel with specific floors for MLBB-themed lodging. In addition, Moonton will use the hotel to host MPL MY’s professional players and carry out a number of campaigns. Additionally, Moonton and Hatten will work together to showcase and advertise Mobile Legends at Arena X, a 1,200-seat esports venue at Element X mall.

Malaysia has been proving to be the most lucrative market for Mobile Legends

The most lucrative market for Mobile Legends so far has proven to be Malaysia, where players have spent $87.5 million, or 17% of total income, on the game. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has enjoyed a great deal of success in this area since its release. More than one billion people have downloaded the game, and there are 100 million players who log on each month. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has also been included as a medal event at succeeding SEA Games since the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Gaming is becoming the most engaging form of entertainment in the world with Esports gaining more momentum as a spectator sport. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has experienced explosive growth globally with Southeast Asia being its key revenue market since its launch in 2016.

Catering to the growing popularity of MLBB, the world’s first-of-its-kind MLBB-themed integrated Esports Hub at ElementX is conceptualized with an array of experiential interactions and immersive environment as well as multi-dimensional offerings that redefine gaming experiences, creating a special bond among MLBB fans and attracting more footfalls and hotel guests to ElementX.

Dato’ Colin Tan, Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Hatten Land

“Together with MOONTON Games, we share the same commitment to creating a thriving, sustainable Esports and gaming ecosystem in Malaysia and across the region, boosting tourism spending and spurring new growth and opportunities across other business adjacencies.”, further added Dato’ Colin Tan.

Mr. Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, Marketing Lead of MPL Malaysia, MOONTON Games, added: “Our partnership with Hatten Land to launch the world’s first MLBB-themed integrated Esports Hub at ElementX in Melaka is another important experiential initiative for us to connect with our players and fans in a way that other forms of media cannot replicate.

“We look forward to work closely together with Hatten Land to drive more community-driven and crowd-funded events across the region, increasing the popularity of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and winning new fans,” he concluded.
