PUBG Mobile: The Infinity has been crowned as the champions of PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Season 3 SEA Finals

A great feat for the team from Thailand!

The grand finals of the PUBG Mobile (PMPL) Southeast Asia (SEA) Season 3 Finals, one of the PUBG Mobile’s biggest esports tournament, has just concluded and The Infinity from Thailand has been crowned champions. They have beaten the likes of Bigetron, Evos RBN, Valdus The Murder during their run in the competition. 16 top teams across the SEA regions competed in the tournament for a combined prize pool of $150,000. The Infinity finished as the champions followed by Evos RBN as runner up and Infinity IQ at third place. The teams earned $32,000, $21,000, and $16,500 respectively. Also, each chicken dinner was rewarded with $500 for the winning team. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was held online where each player competed from their own homes/boot camps.

PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Season 3 SEA Finals: As it Happened

Arguably one of the most exciting versions of the tournament, PMPL SEA season 3 was filled with nonstop action and unpredictability over its three-day run. The first day was dominated by the Indonesian teams with Aura, Evos RBN, and SEA giants Bigetron making up the top 3. However, a rocky second day for Bigetron and Aura made them lose their top 3 spots which were occupied by the likes of Orange, Infinity IQ, and The Infinity.

As the tournament progressed, the tougher it seemed for the teams with big names to make a comeback. Contrary to everyone’s expectations, the defending champions and favorites to win the tournament, Bigetron hit a dead end with their array of bad performances. They plummeted to 7th place as their country rivals Evos RBN held on to their top 3 spots.

As the third and final day commenced, it seemed like there was no stopping The Infinity from being the champions They mowed down every team they faced, aided by the stellar performance of their key player nOOzy, as they cemented their spot in the first place with a match in hand. Their 2 back to back chicken dinners, including an insane 21 kill Chicken Dinner in Sanhok boosted their chances beyond the reaches of the other teams.

Thereafter it became a battle to fight for the top 3 and top 5, with the new Evos RBN roster led by former Bigetron player Microboy clinching the runner-up spot following an impressive Chicken Dinner in the final game of the tournament.

The coveted MVP (Most Valuable Player) title was earned by none other than nOOzy from The Infinity. His exemplary performance was crucial for the success of his team’s championship run. He grabbed 56 kills alone, which also earned him the first spot on the Top Fraggers list by a margin of 23 kills from his nearest competitor KatouLyssa. His MVP title came along with a cheque of an impressive $6000 as an individual prize.

Final Thoughts

Overall an exciting campaign, it was also a morbid one for old teams, most notably Bigetron – as they failed to get a top 5 spot in an international tournament for the 3rd time in a row. Arguably the most successful global team, their downfall has been a shocker with fans left dismayed. It just shows how crucial Microboy was to the team, as his departure left Bigetron in disarray while his new team Evos RBN is now touching new heights.

The Infinity might’ve just emerged as a new superpower, following their dominating win with a 50 point lead. With The Infinity and Evos RBN automatically qualifying for PMPL Season 4, it remains to be seen if they’ll be able to hold on to their performance, or if they will just crumble under the pressure of high expectations.
