Nova Esports is leading the votes for PUBG Mobile

As per the official announcements made, the 2022 Asian Games to be held at Hangzhou, China will feature a dedicated section for esports comprising 8 games, 3 of which are mobile games. Ahead of this historical moment for gaming, Tencent, the Chinese corporate giant, has organized a voting system to pick the most favorable team(s) as representatives of China at the 2022 Asian Games stage.

In a post by the official Tencent Esports account on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, they have released the official voting stats as of now, featuring the top 3 lineups that could compete at the Asian Games. The top spot has been occupied by none other than Nova Esports with 182 million votes, with a lead of 160 million over 2nd placed LGD Gaming with 20 million votes.

Nova Esports is by far the most successful team in PUBG Mobile both in terms of earnings and trophies with multiple international and domestic accolades under their belt. Their lineup consists of Order and Paraboy, widely regarded to be the best players of the game, along with Jimmy, the most successful IGL, King, and Qc

2nd placed LGD is also formidable, having stars like ChengC and Suki on their roster alongside Nashi, Kuai Xiu, and Mao Mao. Strangely, the 3rd place is also occupied by LGD, but with the in-game roles of Suki, ChengC and Nashi switched among themselves. The list could be subject to change as the voting portal is still functional.

Tencent is doing the same for Arena Of Valor

Similar to PUBG Mobile, Tencent has organized voting for the Arena Of Valor lineup as well, and Wolves Esports has emerged the most popular with a lead of 2 million votes over their nearest rivals All Gamers(AG). The lineup is run by the Wolverhampton Wanderers football club of England and is a force to be reckoned with. The official announcement can be viewed here.

Final thoughts

Being the host country, it is apparent that China is more than keen to establish its dominance in the esports scene of Asia as well, along with its already-dominant sports category. All in all, this is a historical moment for gaming and the winning teams in this Asian Games will surely receive a special seat among their counterparts of the same game, and Tencent China is apparently determined to make it happen.
