PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is an online multiplayer game of the battle royale genre developed originally by Bluehole’s PUBG Corporation, a Korean video games company. The mobile version of the game is developed by Chinese publishers Tencent Games, which became a huge hit after its launch. Recently, the lifetime revenue of PUBG Mobile hit $3 Billion.
PUBG Mobile Gameplay
PUBG’s mobile version, much like it’s PC version, revolves around Darwin’s ‘Survival of the fittest’ evolutionary theory. The game starts with you being on an aeroplane, which carries all the players over a map. You can drop at any location you want, and collect different kinds of loots like weapons, healing items, attachments, safety gear etc. Your objective is to protect yourself and your team from the enemies till the end. Things get interesting over time as the playable area(Safe Zone) shrinks and all the players are enforced to move into the area, eventually enforcing action-packed encounters towards the end of the match. You can use different types of vehicles to travel in the game and move into the safe zone. In the end, the last player/ team to survive wins and earns a ‘Winner Winner Chicken Dinner‘.
PUBG Mobile Game Modes
The classic mode typically has 100 players fighting it out at the battlegrounds as solos, duos or squads. The classic mode currently has five maps including Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi and the latest Nordic Map Livik.
The Arcade mode currently has three game modes:
- Quick Match
- Sniper Training (only available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays)
The Arena mode in PUBGM is set for quick close-combats. There are 4 Arenas currently available:
- Arena Training (Warehouse)
- Team Deathmatch (Warehouse)
- Domination (Town)
- Assault (Ruins)
There’s another new Arena scheduled to arrive soon, named Team Gun Game. It’ll also include a new map named ‘Library‘, the first indoor map of PUBGM.
The PlayLab mode includes Payload mode which is playable on Erangel, and RageGear – TDM mode playable on a map named ‘Ring of Sand’. However, you can only play this PlayLab mode on weekends.
Another limited-time game mode named ‘Unranked Classic Mode‘ is currently available in the game, which is similar to the Classic Mode. It’s a warm-up event for the Royale Pass Season 14.
