Recognize it or not, sometimes even the bravest adventurers of Asterleeds need a break from slaying beasts, farming powerful gear, or sprinting between story chapters. And that’s where fishing comes in! A surprisingly chill, oddly addictive, and unexpectedly rewarding side activity in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.
Fishing isn’t just a throwaway mini-game. It’s a full gameplay loop with its own mechanics, progression, rewards, research system, and economic value. Whether you’re here for profit, relaxation, life-skill synergy, leaderboard flexing, or just to complete your Archive, fishing has something for everyone.
In this Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Fishing Guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about fishing. Also, feel free to look at our Redeem Codes article for freebies. And our Beginners Guide is here to give you a smooth start.
How to unlock Fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Fishing becomes available after completing the main story quest Fireworks Fantasy Night. This ensures that you’re already familiar with basic gameplay mechanics before venturing into the more leisurely yet rewarding world of angling.
Your first stop is the Fishing Guild Member in Asterleeds, located just north of the Celestine Plaza teleport. Speaking to her triggers the quest “Invitation from the Fishing Guild,” which introduces you to the fishing system and rewards you with a Regular Fishing Pole and x5 Beginner’s Bait.

To complete the tutorial, you’ll need to catch an Asterscad at Yacht Harbor. As you approach the water, the fishing tutorial begins automatically, showing you the basics of casting, waiting, and reeling.
Once you’ve successfully caught the fish and returned it to the guild member, you’re rewarded with x5 Regular Bait, x5 Precise Bait, 300 Luno (Bound), and 30,000 Adventurer EXP. Congratulations, fishing is now fully unlocked, and you can enjoy it anywhere in the designated fishing zones.
How to Fish in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Fishing in Star Resonance is deceptively simple. It requires timing, observation, and a little bit of strategy. The first step is finding a Fishing Spot, which is marked by a glowing icon on your map. Currently, fishable locations are limited to Asterleeds and Asteria Plains, and only the designated spots are viable.
Once you’ve equipped a Fishing Pole and selected your Bait, cast your line into the water. The bobber will float on the surface, and small dips indicate that something is nibbling. When an exclamation point [!] appears, a fish has bitten, and the mini-game officially begins.

The core of fishing is the fish wrestling phase. The screen is divided into left, center, and right zones, and the fish moves between them as it struggles. Align your pole with the fish’s current position while managing the line tension bar. Overstretching the line will snap it, causing the fish to escape.
Once your pole is aligned with the fish, hold the reel-in button to push the progress bar. Successfully filling the bar brings the fish to shore, granting you your hard-earned catch. And that’s it, you’ve successfully reeled in your catch.
How to use your Fish in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Catching fish is only part of the fun; what you do with them adds layers of depth to the mini-game. Fishing in Star Resonance synergizes with three life skills: Culinary, Alchemy, and Botany. Fish and scallops are essential for combat-boosting recipes in Culinary.

Fishing also integrates with Guild Systems. Daily guild cargo may require fish submissions, rewarding Luno (Unbound) and contributing to guild progression. Additionally, the Boon Fountain Guild Buff provides +1 fish per catch for 24 hours, increasing efficiency. Also, fish can be sold at the Seafood Store, where daily limits exist for Raw Fish Meat, Scallops, and Asterscad.
Season Pass players benefit too, cause fishing generates Activity Merits, which contribute to Season Points and Adventurer EXP. Not all catches are useful for cooking or guilds. Ocean trash can be recycled at the Ocean Garbage Recycler in Asterleeds in exchange for Luno (Bound), helping keep your inventory manageable while providing extra funds.
How to get more Bait and Fishing Rods in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
Your fishing efficiency depends heavily on your gear. Fishing Poles and Bait are essential, and upgrading them as you level up your fishing skill can save time, increase durability, and improve your catch rates.

New rods and bait types unlock as your Fishing skill progresses, while the Culinary life skill can also unlock recipes for advanced bait, giving you more strategic control over your fishing sessions. Stocking up at the Fishing Store or through quest rewards ensures you never run dry during extended trips.
Final Thoughts
Fishing in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is far more than a relaxing pastime. It’s a strategic activity that rewards careful planning, attention, and persistence. By integrating with life skills, guild systems, and seasonal rewards, fishing adds a meaningful layer to your adventuring experience.
