Get Exotic Weapons easily with these tips!

Destiny has always been defined by its weapons, and nothing embodies that identity more than Exotics. In Destiny: Rising, Exotics return in all their glory, combining fan favorites from the earlier Destiny games with brand-new creations designed for mobile play.

From the iconic Crimson hand cannon to the devastating Furies III Pulse Rifle, chasing Exotics is both a grind and a thrill. But unlike other weapons, you won’t just stumble upon these casually, and getting Exotics requires effort. And in this Destiny: Rising Exotic Weapons Guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know to get your hands on these bad boys.

What are Exotic Engrams in Destiny: Rising

Exotic Engrams in Destiny: Rising are the primary way players can unlock some of the most powerful and unique weapons in the game. Unlike standard loot, these engrams are rare and tied to specific milestones or activities, making them highly sought after by players looking to strengthen their loadouts.

You won’t find Exotic Engrams dropping casually during early missions. And they become available mainly through end-game content once you’ve progressed far enough in the story. Reaching Team Level 50 and completing Chapter 4-2, along with the Armageddon mission, unlocks activities such as Gauntlet Ops and Legendary Campaign.

These high-level challenges are some of the most reliable sources for Exotic Engrams. Another important system is Quick Synthesis, which allows players to trade Exotic Weapon Parameters for Exotic Engrams. These parameters are earned through bounty, dismantling exotic weapons, and playing the legendary campaign.

It’s a grind-heavy method, but it ensures steady progress toward filling out your collection. Overall, Exotic Engrams serve as the gateway to Destiny: Rising’s most iconic tools of destruction, and they remain the core path for anyone aiming to collect and master the full roster of Exotics.

What are Exotic Weapons in Destiny: Rising

Exotic weapons are the rarest and some of the most powerful weapons in Destiny: Rising. And they stand above Legendary and Mythic weapons thanks to their unique traits, distinct abilities, and flashy designs that make them instantly recognizable. Each Exotic feels like a character in its own right — they don’t just add to your DPS, they change how you play.

Unlike Mythic weapons, which focus on raw stat upgrades, Exotics usually come with game-changing traits. They’re not meant to blend in with the rest of your loadout; they define it. And you can only equip one Exotic weapon at a time, so choosing the right Exotic for your Lightbearer is important for your build.

How to get Exotic Weapons in Destiny: Rising

So how do you actually get your hands on these shiny tools of destruction? Destiny: Rising gives you multiple pathways, some more reliable than others. Here are the main sources:

1. End-Game Activities

Completing Gauntlet Ops and Legendary Campaign missions grants you rewards like Exotic Engrams. And these activities open after Chapter 4-2 and Armageddon, so they’re designed for high-level Lightbearers. So take these challenges daily and think of them as your bread-and-butter for farming Exotics.

2. Quick Synthesis

This is the only guaranteed way to obtain Exotic Engrams outside of specific events. By gathering Exotic Weapon Parameters from high-value bounties, dismantling, and more, you can synthesize them in your Inventory. While the results are random, the system ensures steady Exotic acquisition if you put in the grind.

3. 14-Day sign-in Rewards

This is one of the most beginner-friendly methods in the game. All you have to do is log in for 7 days to get one Exotic Choice Engram, and logging in for 14 days grants another. And the choices for exotics include Huckleberry, Borealis, and Crimson, but the best part is that no grind is required.

4. Seasonal Battle Pass

Every season, Destiny: Rising features a Seasonal Exotic, and for Season 1, it’s the Furies III Pulse Rifle. While Premium pass holders unlock it early, free players can still get it, but must grind the full pass to Level 50.

5. Progress through the Main Story

Your first step toward unlocking Exotics is simply playing through the campaign. And you can get your very first Exotic playing as Wolf and completing one of the main story missions. Otherwise, many Exotic opportunities don’t appear until you’ve advanced through multiple chapters of the story.
