Welcome to the Dragalia Lost Adventurer Tier List – July 2020 edition. The purpose of this list is to give players a general idea of each Adventurer’s value, so as to better gauge how they should proceed with an investment towards summoning or building them. Adventurers with higher rankings will provide the best bang for your buck, and ensure smooth progress from starter to endgame content.
Placements are explained in the Ranking Criteria section below this list. Moreover, do note that Dragalia Lost has an elemental advantage system in place, along with varying bosses, mechanics and strategies. Therefore, we advise you to draw any comparisons within the same element, unless explicitly stated otherwise as is the case in SS tier. Order of presentation within the same tier has no underlying meaning, as names are presented alphabetically. Adventurers are assumed to have optimal investment (ie. Dragons, Weapons, Mana Circles, Facilities, etc.).

Ranking Criteria
SS: Meta-breaking Tier
Characters in this tier can trespass into other elements and still outperform the majority of their respective rosters anyways. Gala Cleo and Gala Alex have great levels of utility but unlike other supportive Adventurers, they pack a punch of their own worthy of S Tier by itself. Hawk has potent burst and enables “cheesing” through stun infliction, making him great for breezing over the content. Grace, the “faux-healer” on the other hand is fully support oriented, replacing other S tier healers without actually healing at all. Her defense buffs are so thick she can prevent damage altogether (useful for Adventurers or equipment relying on HP conditions), and block afflictions, allowing her to help almost anywhere.
S: Meta Tier
Characters in this tier compose the central part of the meta within their respective content and are invaluable additions to any elemental team against any matching boss. Their presence assures the smoothest/fastest completion of even the hardest content available. Using these characters will grant you quicker access to all bosses, and thus, all resources.
A: Sub-meta Tier
Characters in this tier still possess amazing capabilities that add towards clearing the wide range of Dragalia Lost’s content. Unless hosts are excessively picky, or you misinterpret your role in a team, you should have no problem accessing endgame content. However, they don’t reach S tier for one of the following reasons:
- An existing S tier character is a direct upgrade, filling the same role but performing better (Mitsuhide > Fleur / Jiang Ziya > Thaniel).
- They excel in a particular context, but don’t keep such performance outside of it, unlike S tier characters. (e.g. Kirsty has high DPS values with Poisoning teammates, but falls off without them)
B: Competent Tier
Characters in this tier are solid additions when starting out, but may need extra effort/investment to find their way into the hardest fights currently available. In other words, they will make fine placeholders until you build up equipment and obtain stronger units. In this tier you will find:
- Dethroned powerhouses (e.g. Mikoto, before the Flame Blade saturation)
- Powerful adventurers with resistances not favored by High Dragon Trials (e.g. DY! Cleo). New Agito bosses could raise their placement.
- Competent adventurers with awkward kits, hard to use optimally in hectic fights (e.g. Lea, proximity buffing units like S! Cleo)
- Adventurers with incomplete kits, who through a Mana Spiral could become staple (e.g. Xiao Lei, Celliera.) Euden and Xania placements are a result of this.
C: Underperforming Tier
Characters in this tier have a harder time standing out from the bunch, yet still get some jobs done. For instance, they may be centered around weaker mechanics (i.e. energy or shields), have kits unnecessarily split among two tasks, or simply have too many competent alternatives above them. A couple from this bunch will be relegated as fillers during solo content and pull their weight, others will allow for niche strategies to help with midgame content. However, you might need to bend over backwards to run them in endgame public lobbies though.
D: Lackluster Tier
Characters in this tier start presenting serious drawbacks with no workarounds. Counterintuitive kits, hardly fulfilling their roles, incomplete resistances, such issues are just an example. Characters in this tier could potentially gain access to a Mana Spiral upgrade and still remain 3rd place in their niche. Worth only the most basic of investment, you will quickly be replacing these once you farm and use the starter wyrmite on summoning adventurers.
E: Bottom Dwellers Tier
Characters in this tier got the short end of the stick. Incoherent stats and kits, excess of competitors, hardly any incentive to use them other than personal favoritism. You are better off using off-element alternatives ranked above than picking the adventurers from this tier.
