eFootball 2025 continues its lineup of Epic packs, and this time, the focus shifts to defensive mastery with the European Clubs Guardians Pack. After being tired of the strikers and attackers that have flooded up in the game, some defenders are now part of it, and it is an interesting lineup to say with legendary defenders Fabio Cannavaro, Bixente Lizarazu, and Giorgio Chiellini. Many are eager to see if these defensive icons can truly lock down attacks and justify the investment. Here’s my take on how these three players perform in this eFootball 2025 European Clubs Guardians Pack review.
Epic cards from the European Clubs Guardians pack in eFootball 2025
Following a similar pattern, we see 150 players in this pack with three Epic cards. Two of them have Show Time skills while one is your regular Epic.
Fabio Cannavaro
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Fortress
Officially the highest-rated player in the game, any version of Cannavaro is an absolute defensive machine. I have his Italy single booster version, and given this new card is a healthy upgrade, it will be even better. His aggressive style means he doesn’t give attackers any breathing room, constantly pressing and forcing mistakes. He’s fantastic in 1v1 situations, rarely letting a striker turn or get a clean shot off.
Aerially, he holds his own, but he’s not the guy you want challenging big-target men. My old card is good at it and heads well, but taller strikers will still win their fair share of headers against him. You can see heading took a nosedive with this new card but the jump is very high so I think there is no worry about his play.
Physically, he’s strong and impressively has an awesome balance for a defender, so with a little buff in pace, which he has already received, he can be a good RB too. I think the auto build is all good, but you can tweak a little in his to improve the heading a bit although the jump already crosses the ton mark.
Bixente Lizarazu
- Position: LB
- Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
- Showtime Skill: Edged Crossing
If you have the free Edged Crossing version of Ben White, then you will rejoice in getting this much faster and better-passing upgrade of a card in Lizarazu. Lizarazu plays exactly how you’d expect a top-tier attacking full-back to play, fast, aggressive, and always looking to push forward. His pace is incredible, and when he gets into those wide areas, his deliveries are pinpoint thanks to the Show Time skill.
Defensively, he’s solid, but he’s not a tank. Against physical wingers, he can struggle a bit, that low physical isn’t helping him. His positioning is good, though, so as long as you don’t leave him isolated, he’ll hold his own. His stamina is ridiculous though. When you see his style, I think the LMF role build would be the best with 3 ATB formation, and if he had the Cross Specialist playstyle, then it would have been game over I feel.
Giorgio Chiellini
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Destroyer
Chiellini gets an Epic card, and Suarez also has his Epic-okay, no more bite jokes. Review side, he is a straight-up defensive enforcer. He’s big, he’s strong, and he plays exactly like an old-school center-back who’s no-nonsense, just pure defensive dominance. He wins almost every physical battle shielding is pretty fun with him. His tackling is aggressive and clean, and he is yet to win a red card in the 20 matches I’ve played.
Aerially, he’s a monster. Corners, be it crosses or long balls he’s winning most of them. He’s not the quickest defender, though, so if he’s caught high up the pitch, it’s tough for him to recover. He’s perfect for teams that sit deeper and rely on their center-backs to be brick walls. If you need a physical, dominant defender who just shuts things down, Chiellini is the guy you want.
Best pick from European Clubs Guardians pack in eFootball 2025
Another pack where all three are very good picks. If you need the highest-rated defender in your squad not only as a flex but because of how dangerous this card is, you won’t go wrong with Cannavaro. The Ballon d’Or winner version is arguably the best defender and a close second would be Chiellini.
