Fortnite Guide: Tips on how to show Footsteps in the game

Now know when enemies are nearby!

Having the capability to locate one’s opponents is one of the key features that are required in a battle royale to survive. Fortnite is such a famous battle royale game needs to have this feature too as it is crucial in surviving during the match and also helps players to position themselves in a better fashion if they know where the attack is going to come from. But the feature to show footsteps on the map is not turned on by default and here’s how players can do it in Fortnite. 

How to see footsteps in Fortnite

Footsteps can be now heard and seen in Fortnite. Epic Games have added a new Accessibility option that lets the players turn it on if they want to. The footsteps will just appear on the map to show the players that enemies are nearby but won’t lead them onto them. This is for players who don’t have the best headphones to help them hear the enemies approaching or if they have any hearing issues and here’s how one can turn it on.

  • Step 1: Open Fortnite and go to the main lobby screen.
  • Step 2: Click on the three lines which are on the top right of the screen.
  • Step 3: This will lead the players to the Settings menu. They can see a bar at the top of the screen. Here players need to click on the sound icon which will lead to the Audio tab.
  • Step 4: Scroll down on the Audio tab till one reaches the “Sound” section.
  • Step 5: Locate the “Visualize Sound Effects” and switch it on.
  • Step 6: Save the settings and exit the Settings tab and one will be done.

After turning this feature on, players will not just be about to hear footsteps but several other things. Rings will start appearing on the crosshair of the players of different colors and each color denotes different things. For example, orange reddish rings denote gunshots while gold rings denote that there is a chest nearby. Turning on this setting not just helps players know that enemies are nearby but also several better things to make the gameplay experience a lot better.
