FPL Gameweek 25 Watchlist 2021/22: 5 Fantasy players to watch out for

5 players to transfer in for the upcoming gameweeks!

We are already passed through the 1st part of the season, ups and downs on the league table as slowed down, teams will try to reinforce (so as the FPL managers) themselves in January to move upwards in the league table. After the end of FPL 2021/22 Gameweek 24, there has been a lot of share of points with the premium assets delivering huge points. Apart from the popular picks, there are quite a number of players, who have impressed over the weekend with points and underlying stats. The onset of good fixtures along with their form can really turn them into good replacements for the underperforming assets of the fantasy team. All the managers are trying to stabilize their teams with suitable options before the price hikes. In this FPL Gameweek 25 Watchlist 2021/22, we will be looking at 5 Fantasy players, who could become future transfer targets, carrying their good run.

FPL Gameweek 25 Watchlist 2021/22

The focus this week is primarily on double gameweek 25 for Manchester United and the big Double gameweek 26 for other clubs. Also, we have kept an eye on the upcoming fixtures.

1. Raphinha (Midfielder) – 6.6 Million

With doubts over Demarai Gray who was forced off with a hip problem against Newcastle, the ever-reliable Raphinha is back on the menu. With 5 goals involvements in his last 8 appearances between gameweek 14 and 23 Raphinha has averaged 4.9 points per game. No player created more big chances than his 4 during that spell while just six midfielders took more than his 23 shots.

With Patrick Bamford’s return date still unknown we can expect to see Raphinha retain penalty duties for the foreseeable future. Leeds is one of the eight teams with a double gameweek 26 facing Manchester United at home and Liverpool away and they’ve also got their home fixture against Aston Villa yet to be rescheduled with an outside chance of that falling before gameweek 30.

2. Bruno Fernandes (Midfielder) – 11.7 Million

The rotation plan of Ralf Rangnick has put a question mark on Ronaldo’s double gameweek appearance and there Fernandes becomes the safer option for the FPL managers. A 1-1 draw against Burnley is surely a disappointing result to the United fans but the Portuguese International has played a direct hand in 4 goals in the last 4 appearances with a double-digit haul.

In the above-mentioned time, he has taken 10 shots keeping 4 on target, and created 2 big chances with an average of 3 touches in the opposition’s penalty box. Bruno Fernandes has an expected goals figure of 0.23 (xG) per 90 and an expected assist figure of 0.53 (xA) per 90 during that spell. United will face Southampton and Brighton in their double gameweek 25 followed by Leeds and Watford in the next 4 games.

3. Philippe Coutinho (Midfielder) – 7.1 Million

Since his return to the Premier League, Coutinho became one of the favorite midfield choices for the FPL managers. In gameweek 24 the Brazilian has contributed to all 3 goals bagging 3 bonus points and In his last 3 appearances, he has totaled 25 FPL points (an average of 8.3/game) with one double-digit haul. Coutinho has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists so far with a non-penalty expected goals figure of 0.57 (xG) per 90 and an expected assist figure of 0.42 (xA) per 90.

Coutinho has landed a total of 6 shots keeping 4 on target and created 3 big chances with an average of 5.2 touches in the opposition’s penalty box. With his recent performance, he has made his name permanent on the team and established himself as a sure starter. Aston Villa will face Newcastle, Watford, and Southampton in their next 4 gameweeks with 2 games (against Burnley and Leeds) yet to be rescheduled in near future, maybe before gameweek 30.

4. Wout Weghorst (Forward) – 6.5 Million

Arriving at the end of January as a replacement for Chris Wood, Wout Weghorst helped Burnley snatch a point in a one-all draw with Manchester United in just his second game for the club. After beating Harry Maguire with an unbelievable turn he put strike partner Jay Rodriguez in on goal with a smart through ball. Moments later Weghorst set himself up for a strike on the half volley from just outside the box forcing an impressive save from David de Gea.

Burnley is set for a double gameweek 26 facing Brighton away and Spurs at home and with 3 more fixtures yet to be rescheduled. We’re likely to see more doubles follow their home meeting with Leicester look fairly likely to drop into gameweek 27 in addition to their existing away tie with Crystal Palace that week.

5. Harry Kane (Forward) – 12.3 Million

More resembling his old self in recent matches Harry Kane added a further 2 goals to his tally in all competitions when Spurs beat Brighton 3-1 in the FA Cup last weekend. The Englishman has notched 4 goals and an assist across his last six league outings between gameweek 18 and 23 to earn more points than any other forward in that spell with an average of 5.5 per game. He’s produced the league-best 4.42 expected goals figure in that time with no player able to better tallies of 29 shots in total 20 efforts in the box and 12 on target.

Meanwhile, his total of 3 big chances created can only be bettered by Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Moura, and Heung-Min Son each with 4. Spurs traveled to Manchester City and Burnley for their double gameweek 26 with ties against wolves and Leeds either side and with matches against Brighton and Arsenal still, to be rescheduled. We could potentially see them gain another double before gameweek 30.
