Pokémon Go Plus + is a new accessory that is being launched by Nintendo and can be used to connect to both Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sleep. Pokémon Sleep is an upcoming game launching for both iOS and Android devices during this summer where players can earn rewards depending on the amount and nature of their sleep. The new accessory is also supposed to make playing Pokémon Go easier for players than ever before. Here’s all that one needs to know about it.
What is Pokémon Go Plus +
The Pokémon Go Plus + is an actual real-life device that is being manufactured by Nintendo Limited and can be bought by Pokémon fans to participate in the upcoming Pokémon Sleep game and the already existing Pokémon Go games. It is the successor of the previous Pokémon Go Plus device.
The device is on sale from July 14, 2023, in the US and will go on sale from July 21, 2023, in Europe. It looks similar to an actual Pokéball but instead of only a ball, it is flat and shaped like a button. Players can continue playing Pokémon Go without buying this accessory still without the additional benefits but it is necessary to get one if they want to play Pokémon Sleep.
How to connect to Pokémon Sleep using Pokémon Go Plus +
Players need to use this accessory while playing Pokémon Sleep as it is the only way the game can track their sleep cycle. They need to click on the button in the middle of the device once they go to bed and then click on it once again when they wake up. Based on the sleep data, players will be able to progress in the real game. The game is available to be installed from the App Store while it is available for pre-registration on the Play Store as it will release in the summer of this year.
By default, the device wakes the players up or normally talks with a Pikachu voice. It even sings lullabies for the players and more sounds can be unlocked as the player progress in the game. Players will also get their hands on a special Pikachu wearing a nightcap when they pair the device with the game for the first time which will help them to raise Snorlax in the game. To connect Pokémon Go Plus + with the Pokémon Sleep game, players will need to follow the following steps.
- Step 1: Open the Main Menu which is located at the bottom middle of the main screen of the Pokémon Sleep app.
- Step 2: Click on Settings and then click on Pair a Device from the menu.
- Step 3: Tao on Pair Device at the lower right of the screen and the app will start looking for the Pokémon Go Plus + accessory.
- Step 4: After connecting with the device successfully, the icon beside the Main Menu will show the Go Plus + icon to indicate that the device is now connected.
Now players will also need to unpair their device if they want to use it in Pokémon Go for which they will need to tap on the Go Plus + icon, then go to the Other section and press on the Unpair Pokémon Go Plus + option. Players should also remember that any unsynced data will be deleted from the app once the device is disconnected, so they should first synch everything once before disconnecting it.
How to connect to Pokémon Go using Pokémon Go Plus +
Unlike Pokémon Sleep, players don’t need to use the new accessory to play Pokémon Go. But if they have bought it already for Pokémon Sleep, they should also pair it with Pokémon Go when they are playing it to use the full potential of the device.
Using the device makes it easier for players to play the game, as they won’t need to take out their smartphones outside as they’ll be able to spin at Pokéstops, throw Pokéballs to catch Pokémon all by the click of just one button of the device. They’ll also be able to use Great Balls and Ultra Balls.
To connect Pokémon Go Plus + with the Pokémon Go app, players will need to follow the following steps.
- Step 1: Click on the Pokéball icon at the bottom middle of the main screen of the Pokémon Go app.
- Step 2: Click on the Settings option on the top right and then tap on Connected Devices and Services.
- Step 3: Tao on Accessory Devices, then select Pokémon Go Plus+ and also click the main button on the actual Pokémon Go Plus +, this will start the connecting process.
- Step 4: Any Pokémon Go Plus + in range of the smartphone will be visible on the screen and players will tap on it to connect successfully.
If players fail to connect their devices even after following all the steps above, they should go back to Step 2 and start over again. Now to disconnect the device, players will need to follow all the same steps till they reach the screen which shows the connected device. Besides the name of the device, there is a triangle mark that players will need to click on to disconnect their devices successfully.
Players will be able to take on Special Research and also earn an encounter with a Snorlax wearing a nightcap in the game. There are also plans to incorporate the sleep data of the players from the device into Pokémon Go to add new functionalities using it. Players should remember that this device runs on battery and will regularly need to charge it on time so that it doesn’t die in the middle of the night while it is collecting the sleep data of the players.
